Catania City Center Historical Building Home

We loved being in this older (800 years) building with all its charm. Alessandro has done a good job with the renovations / upgrades to make two comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms - the older, main floor room and the loft above the kitchen. There are stairs - to the apartment and more to the loft bedroom. If you are okay with these (we were) you will enjoy the high ceilings and beauty of the architecture and old world style. Comfortable living room. Small but functional kitchen which worked well for our breakfasts and eat in meals. Shops for basic groceries nearby. Restaurants in walking distance. Alessandro and his family were welcoming and super helpful. Parking available.

Incredible building with elegant features and furniture. Close proximity to main attractions.

Reluctant to take luggage to upstairs bedroom as narrow staircase. Main bedroom's bathroom quite a distance through all living rooms. No top sheet on beds only thick doonas which were too hot for summer. Towels very thin.

Excellent building, a lot of style and nice decoration. Typical Sicilian styling. The location great. Host Alejandro and his father very useful and very friendly. A lot of space in each room . This is the best in Catania.

The apartment is filled with charm giving an insight into the history of Catania. The house has been decorated to match the aesthetic of the building. There were enough kitchen utensils and equipment that we could cook at home but there were many places within walking distance. We also had a lovely day trip to Taormina via the train which was a 10 minute ish walk away.

The location of the apartment is excellent, with convenient access to the train station, main shopping street, flea market, supermarkets etc. The welcoming host family greeted us upon arrive and handed over the key without delay. The friendly couple with their father provided us a wealth of information about local life and travel, ensuring we had seamless experience. As they live just opposite to the apartment, they were always there to help us, no matter how big or small the problem. The attentiveness made us feel like honoured guests rather than strangers in a new city

Nothing to complain about. Please leave the apartment as it is: the ceiling, the paintings, the studying room, kitchen and especially the comfortable big bed
