Overnatting på Helgatun Fjellpensjonat AS i Myrkdalen

There were 2 bathrooms which was the reason that I booked this property. However, both bathrooms were on the first floor, and there was only 1 bedroom with 2 beds on the first floor, so we had to go down and upstairs to use the bathroom during the night. This was extremely difficult for us since we are over 75 years old!

Beds were comfortable; water pressure was good, and hot water was instant. A breakfast option is available (you have to pay extra for this when you book your room), which makes a big difference (we are both vegetarian and we had some options to choose from). It was clean, and the location was good for us. Parking available on site.

It might be just a culture difference, but the receptionist is very blunt and direct (skip to the subject, forget about pleasantries...it's pointless). There was a funny smell... like damp (nothing visible). You can hear everything around you... we were lucky as we went there off season, and there weren't that many people there, but I could see this being a problem if you are after a quiet place. Also be sure to check the photos of the room you book as I was misled by the photos as they were showing only the new apartments the rent but in really, we were paying for one room only and these are not part of the new flats.

Great views. Modern and well furnished apartment on first floor (2 flights of stairs from basement car park) with large rooms and ample space for two families even.

Cleanliness of kitchen utensils was not great. Other than the views, location is a bit meh.

The apartment is very clean and beautifull. The bathrooms are spatious as well as all the rooms. The view is magnificent and we would like to come back again.

Roller blind in bedroom let light through from the gallery. Not enough lights in the living room. No bedside lamps in 4 out of 5 bedrooms. No tea towel. New area just developed.

Judging by the pictures of the top tier unit on offer this looked like a pretty upscale and modern place to stay in a nice "ski resort" type area on the website .. The living area was spacious with two story ceilings and it was reasonably clean overall but regrettably that's pretty much where the positives end

Where to begin ..? Booked a FOUR bedroom for just my teen son and I so that we could have space to spread out and be comfortable snd so that neither of us was in a single sized bed and clearly expressed this to management in advance of our arrival however, when we arrived, only one double bed was made up with bed linens and there was just one poor quality bath towel provided each .. Had to drive (because it's far) back down to the front desk to track someone down to give me another set of bed linens and then drag it back up to the condo and make our own beds .. no duvet cover was provided .. just the raw insert (gross) so had to use two flat sheets to sandwich it in between which of course doesn't work plus they only give you single size sheets for a double bed so you have to use two and of course it's just a ridiculous mess as a result that slips around when you lay down .. Super thin cheap mattresses... TINY bedrooms with barely enough room to walk around the beds.. Bathrooms are bare bones and don't even have toilet paper holders .. one bathroom didn't even have TP at all .. Kitchen literally had a 1/5th of a roll of paper towel left tossed on the counter as the amenity.. Drawers and cabinets have all items haphazardly strewn about in them with no organization whatsoever .. Art frames on walls have no "art" or pics in them .. Stairs (and I use that term very very loosely as it's really a ladder to Hell) to the second floor "bedroom" is a crazy death trap .. I can't believe it's even allowed and even the greeter admitted it was best if guests "don't go up there".. 👀..
