ATGerry was very nice. The apartment was very high up in the Italian countryside it was out of the way from the Amalfi coast and you just needed to take a €1.50 bus ticket all the way up to the top (buses every 30mins and punctual!) and then you had a few restaurants at the top where you could get some nice pizzas at affordable prices and it has a gorgeous view of the Italian countryside. Amalfi Coast is of course very busy so being able to get out of the hustle and bustle was very nice. The room was fitted with an aircon. The room was very clean. You could sit outside on a small terrace but of course there were lots of bugs and mosquitoes so be aware. There was coffee provided in the apartment and a few small toast breads - crunchy type. There was a water bottle and a carton of milk in the fridge so it was nice to start the day with a nice coffee in Italy with a beautiful view of the coast. The highlight of this place was definitely Gerry. He was kind, helpful and very accommodating. You can get a good breakfast at his restaurant where his wife is the cook. Delicious food.
Checking in took a very long time. Gerry had to fill out a lot of documents in order for us to be able to check in. That part took about 20 minutes. Then from picking up the keys, the apartment is actually another 5 to 10 minutes walk away from the restaurant that Gerry stays in. The biggest negative about this apartment is you have to climb around 50 steep steps in order to get to it. This means if you are not physically fit I would highly not recommend this apartment. I am 29 years old, my wife too, we have an 8 month old son so we had to carry all the suitcases, bags & stroller in 29 degrees Celsius and this was of course very unpleasant. I have included a photo for reference.
ROIt was a relaxing stay. The accommodation met all the requirements regarding space and cleanliness. There are many tourist attractions nearby. We found absolutely everything we needed in the location, the free coffee was nice. The accommodation is very spacious and the terraces are nice and the view as well.
The outdoor space, terrace areas could be cleaned and maintained better.
PTNice scenic views, our hosts and Gerry were very helpful with everything, good welcome kit and a very pleasant stay!
Only one bathroom can be limiting to a family of 5, but we already were aware of it. Could be a bit better cleaned though, there was some dust on arrival but nothing too extreme.
AUThis is a great villa in Pogerola Almalfi. Big rooms , well done with all amenities needed for a short stay . Gerry , who manages the pub below the property, is a great person to help with anything needed. Great view of the ocean outside the rooms, spacious apartment, well maintained and great for families or solo travellers . I would definitely recommend the property for a nice short stay .
As it was my first trip to Almalfi Coast, I was not sure where to stay so booked this villa based on other reviews. I like to be honest with my reviews, so it's important to write here that this villa is located in Pogerola which is 20-25 mins by bus from Almalfi town below. So it's better to have a car to move around or your depending on buses which sometimes have their own schedule 😔 And then to go to other islands like Postiano/ Sorrento/ Capri you have to take the ferry from Almalfi town below, so the travelling adds up if you don't have your own car. If I come next time definitely hiring a car to stay in the hills . But as I said above no issues with the accomodation, that was great 👍
GBVilla was beautifully decorated and the facilities were fabulous. It was clean and tidy and the view from the terrace was lovely. We had complimentary breakfast items which was a fabulous touch and Gerry and the host Francesco were a delight to deal with. Would definitely recommend staying here. The area is quiet but you can get the bus into Amalfi for €1.50 which you can purchase from Gerry and it takes approx 25 mins to get down. Very easily accessible.
The fridge freezer was quite noisy and woke us up a couple of times.
HUSpectacular views, very clean
USBeautiful views. Quiet. A great place to relax.
Steps leading to house. The steps are older and crumbling in spots. My daughter fell on the steps the first night and was on crutches the rest of our vacation. It's a bit of a walk to the small village which wouldn't normally be an issue for us but when someone is on crutches, it changes things. I would have liked a small washing machine.
USGerry is a great guy and helped with the keys from his Bar which is around the corner. Parking was available for us and the location is at top of the mountain with scenic views. Well stocked up with necessities. City Bus takes about 30 min to Amalfi coast so no need to run the car around.
Steps up and down the property are bit of a hassle to carry luggage. Getting a bigger car to the property is also bit of a hassle.
