Luxury Beachfront Condo

All amenities were there. Comfortable bed. At the beach. Own car space

It was tired. Family room couch uncomfortable.

I would first like to say that we enjoyed our stay with you. However, I wanted to make you aware of some things about the booking that were less than satisfactory. Firstly, the booking was not clean. There were several places (vents in bathroom, ceiling fans, backs of televisions, etc.) that were covered in what must have been months, if not years, worth of dust. Secondly, for the duration of our stay, the tub drained extremely slowly and the faucet in the bathroom constantly dripped. Also, the portable AC unit did not get very cold, and the vent flap on it was broken. We also did not receive the advertised "complementary chocolates". Lastly, laundry was left in the dryer from the previous renter. All that being said, the view was gorgeous and we had a great time despite the problems with the room.

The condo was not comfortable as far as the couches and chairs. Enjoyed the patio and the bed was decent.

It’s old ok but there’s no excuse for dirt. It’s filthy and dusty in many areas and surfaces which is really unacceptable. (Shelves, windows, tops of fridge and washing machine) . We were missing a bottle opener which the agency promised to deliver and never arrived.

Great location, wonderful amenities, and clean. This unit was a 3rd floor apartment with a large balcony overlooking the ocean. Contrary to a few of the reviews, the beach behind the complex you overlook is completely swimmable and great for snorkeling (saw a good number of tropical fish and turtles) and just lounging on. Though it is a narrower beach and you can't walk too far out into the ocean before you hit coral, it is great to launch from for snorkeling or swimming. We actually preferred the beach behind the apartment to Kawela Bay. The bed in the bedroom was uber comfortable (think Sheraton Sleeper mattress) while the mattress in the pull-down pullman was not that bad either (medium thickness laying on top of a solid board so pretty firm). The hosts maintained a playbox on the balcony that contained various sizes of masks and snorkels for all ages, along with buckets, etc., to play with in the sand. The unit also included several (slightly-used but still good) body-boards, all of which were a great and appreciated perk. The full kitchen included everything to prepare meals with, while the complex has an outside grill (newer and clean) to use for gilling (BYO Briquets). The washer and dryer worked great. The bathroom was clean and functional, though a little tight...but guess I'd rather have a smaller bathroom than taking the space from another room. The outside grounds between the building and beach are trimmed and kept beautifully with lounge chairs and tables to sit at. The neighborhood around the complex is more residential, though is only about 10-15 minutes drive to a grocery store as well as a drugstore, in addition to other misc. stores. The Polynesian Cultural Center is not that far away, which can be both good and bad.

Currently (as of January 2025), the outside of the building is under renovation with parts of it looking quite rundown and weary. Some of the parking lot is torn up and building looks like there were a lot of deferred maintenance issues. However, looks can be deceiving. The renovated parts of the building look modern and clean and will make it a top address once completed (I'm sure the neighbors will appreciate not looking at an eyesore anymore). The biggest concern we had, which borders on a safety issue, is that the exit stairways at the ends of the building that you would use during a power outage or just if you want to, have no lighting (regular or emergency) at the bottom landing which is completely enclosed by cement walls and is pitch black even during the daytime. People going down the stairs, or trying to go up from the bottom, have to bring a flashlight or use the lights on their cellphones for the first flight of stairs. Fortunately, after the first floor the stairs are open to the outside so fairly visible after that, it's just the bottom landing and bottom half of the stairs that are completely in the dark. Would hate to be in a rush having to get out of the building down those steps. One other issue, though relatively minor...the pool is unheated and, because of where it is situated right behind the building, is always in the building's shadow and COLD. Might feel nice on a blistering hot day, but otherwise non-enjoyable by most people. Only saw one or two kids swimming in it while we were there, and they didn't last long. Yes, the pool is kept nice and clean, but that's because no one uses it. We had no issues with the unit itself, though, and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed the location. We had a balcony overlooking the beautiful beach and ocean. Ocean breezes were so pleasant!

MAIN COMPLAINTS. 1.secuity 2. Keys(fob) The host, Prime Hawai’i sometimes answered our messages and other times it appeared they ignored them. Our main concern was security and the fact they only gave us one fob for entry as,there were 3 of us. When we first arrived we were sent : the code for a lockbox where the elevator fob was and a code for the door of the unit. The door code of unit did not work. Turn as out we were given wrong number to the unit. First day there our teenager discovered that the unit door code worked on another unit in property and the lockbox code worked on another lockbox. We did not feel secure. We asked Prime to change our unit door code but they said they couldn’t nor could they give us more than one fob as there were only two of them and they needed to keep one in case other got lost. Later inour staynwe discovered that the balcony sliding door did not lock , which we reported but did not hear back from Prime. We did eventually discover a stick when place on running track kept it locked . It would have been nice if Prime told us this to allay our concerns. Having only one key(fob) was really unacceptable. The fob controlled the elevator and we were on the 6th floor. We could not go out individually which was ridiculous. Other complaints 3. Exterior building old and rundown although it , appears they are doing some outside painting, 4. Unit not too clean, for example overhead lamp over kitchen table had greasy dirt on it. 3. Internet poor in bedroom. 4.advertised as NEW beachfront condo….. false, building old tired and worn, unit looked like it had some renos done at some time but showing wear and tear. but not absolutely new , for example floor tiles had lots of cracks them,kitchen table had marks on, chipped paint. Bed sheet had stain on it. 5. Too much owners stuff made it cluttered.

The location was very good. With a rental car it was an easy drive to food, shops & site seeing. They had some snorkeling gear avail for use at the beach. Loved that the turtles came up onto the beach at night & you were able to take a walk after dinner & see them.

Being December it wasn’t too hot but there wasn’t air conditioning in the bedroom.

The ongoing renovations did make it feel like a building site, although we were not disturbed by any building noise.

The apartment was clean and had everything that you needed in the kitchen. ( can be added a corkscrew ). The bathroom is very small. Plenty of towels, pillows, soap, laundry detergent, shower gel ... Overall, it was a good stay.

The A/C unit is located in the living room. Pleanty of fans around the apartment, but the bedroom was hot. A small unit window a/c can really help.That being said, I would definitely come back.
