"My WORST experience with Booking.com"

Nothing.

I did not stay in this place. On the day of booking I called the owner to confirm my coming. The owner informed me that her place is no longer in use. She has informed Booking.com to remove it from their list, but they haven't done so. She advised me to cancel and that she will waive the "no free cancelation clause" so that I get refunded. Booking.com claims to not have received that waiver. Who is lying here? Unfortunately I am still waiting for my refund!! This was the WORST experience of my life. I was left stranded in Johannesburg and had to make alternative arrangements. Who's responsibility is it to check if the place you're Booking is legit? Booking.com is supposed to do that but failed to do due diligence.
