The Lapa Apartment

We showed up to this property at 2:30pm (it is located in the owner’s front yard of their house). The nanny let us in, and told us that the lady who is in charge of this accommodation would be there a bit later and we could pay her then. We were planning on going to sleep early that night as we needed to leave around 3am the next morning to continue on our roadtrip. As we waited for the lady to come home, a man came home around 4pm, packed his truck, and we were able to catch him for a minute to greet him and ask if we could pay him. He said that his wife handles the payments and that she would be home shortly. We thought that maybe she worked until 5pm, so we continued to stay up. We did not want to lock up and go to sleep before paying. Around 6:30, still, no one was home to take the payment. We knocked on the door of the house (where the nanny and children were) and no one answered. We then decided we were going to pack up and leave. As we were packing the car, the lady showed up. We explained the situation to her, and we were met with an attitude. She turned around and walked away as we were talking to her. We continued to put our stuff in the car, and the lady came back to us with an attitude again, telling us that she would treat this like a cancellation and that we should just leave now. We were calm when explaining the situation to her and why we decided it would be best if we left because we had been waiting around for hours to pay when we had other plans. We were even going to leave money as payment for their troubles of us resting there for a few hours while we were waiting around, but we were treated so rudely and unprofessionally by the owner that we didn’t even have the chance to do so. I would never recommend this property to anyone solely due to the fact of how we were treated.

The Lapa makes you feel at home

Very cozy room to feel at home for one or two nights. Hosts were amazing all the time, making all efforts for a great stay. I definitely recommend this place!
