On arrival we were offered alternative accommodation with family of host. Were given a refund. Host was not expecting us as the property was being rented out ???. Had to find alternative accommodation

The host was so nice and welcoming. Appreciate her in-person welcome and orientation to the stay

The sound of the water stream and the sheep was so relaxing. Although this cottage was extremely cold in the back room, the heater and feather duvet made up for it.

The fact that the photo's on booking com was from the main house and not from the cottage.

Needed to leave the place and to contact support. The owner didn't answer for an hour after we came and also an our after we got the keys. WiFi pass was not provided - we needed to wait, no soap, no shampoo, no NOTHING! The apartment is NOT maintained well, so it's cold during the winter season, extremely cold. No heater at all. No TV though it was on the list. Looks like the owner wants to get passive income and doesn't really care about customers. Just to answer the message from the owner below. 1. Hot water was not on the list, you're right, does that mean we don't need it? 2. It was last minute booking, you're right. I understand and I was patient while waiting. Does that mean that the person you send can know nothing about the place? Neither hot water nor wifi? 3.WiFi worked, you're right. But after I asked the one who showed the apartment for the password, he told me to talk to the owner. After I texted the owner it took her 1 hour to respond (especially when you told me that you're free to call whenever you need anything). Does that mean that to host people mean just to give the keys? 4. Soap was not on the list, you're right. Does that mean that simple things for the bathroom are a must for hospitability? 5. As for TV, it doesn't matter at all. But I checked it was on the list before, just to mention. 6. As for the heaters and extra blankets you blame last-minute booking. If you live in Mossels Bay which is way too far, how do you manage it even for early birds? Do you drive and bring them? It was NOT provided, no one is to blame except the owner. Particularly, when you know that the weather is bad and you have loadsheddings during night time. 7. I traveled half of the world but what it has to do about this particular mismanagement? So, in a nutshell, the place is beautiful and good but unfortunatelly mismanaged. I hope you'll improve it, thank you.

The location, view and farm atmosphere are what draw us. The very friendly reception by the owners is what makes us feel welcomed when staying in Vredelus. We will definitely be back to stay longer!
