Himalayan Hideaway

We had room only and arrived about 9.30pm in the evening, the room was modern and well furnished. Our room was on the 5th and top floor next to the restaurant, hotel reception and a hotel public washroom. It was only the next morning when we realised how noisy it was and asked to be moved, to which the management were very understanding and we were offered a better room for 500 Rupees extra per night, which we accepted. We had a reasonably sized room, which was well furnished and decorated, and had fantastic view across the southern valleys. We really enjoyed the Chicken Biryani on the night we ate there and the restaurant was always busy. Once you orientate yourself the hotel is well positioned near to the ridge, the mall and Christ Church.

Not the hotels fault, but just be aware of the monkeys. Don't wear glasses or sunglasses and keep your phone out of sight when not in use, but that is a problem all over Shimla.

It has truly a great view as promised (Have attached a click, room is as shown so not sharing that). Also the distance from Mall road, State museum, Kali Bari temple, Lakkad bazar, local bus stop, is walkable. The room are clean and tidy. Service provided is quick and just wonderful. If looking at nearby options for comfort, view, accessibility, service can definitely go for it!!🏔️💯

The property was on a good location and the rooms were clean. The mattress was also not bad.

The service was very slow and sone of the food was badly prepared. They lack coordination or man power hence the service issue. Another thing, they had 2 properties and this one is a new one and was difficult to find. We paid booked for Mountain View but the first day we were asked to stay on a normal room, which was disheartening for us, as we had a proper conversation rebooked the Mountain View confirmed it by the owner and yet after such a long saga ultimately 1st day we were asked to stay on a normal room. They need to work on service.

The staff was prompt and very polite. The proximity to the Mall Road was under 5 minutes. My room and toilet were very clean and tidy. I requested for food at an odd hour the same was made available without any additional charges. The food was delicious. I highly recommend chilly chicken and paneer chilly . Lastly, the view of the mountains and the sunset was stunning. Will suggest tea and pakoras to go with it.

The WiFi speed during cloudy weather is erratic.

It was at a prime location, close to The Mall Road on a level walk. Our room was clean, well lit, and tidy. The staff was very helpful and professional to cater to our needs. The food was amazing as well, the chilly chicken is a must-try if staying at Summer Capital. . Overall my stay was comfortable and great. I will want to come back and stay here again.

The food took a little bit of time to be prepared, about half an hour.
