Villa Koi

This place definitely worths for a stay. There are paintings and ancient chinas everywhere even in the guest room. The host is very friendly and warm hearted and well-considered. He prepared everything we might need. The villa is only 5 mins walk from the black beach. We spent two lovely days there. Oh btw the puppies are very friendly too. It is an unforgettable experience.

Robert has created a sanctuary that feels like home. He is the most wonderful, charismatic, kind and generous man and it really translates in how he treats his guests. Him and his partner Dhel are the most beautiful people. They were so incredibly kind and intuitive to your needs. So open and welcoming and would do anything they could for you. Kadek his housekeeper is lovely and kind and very professional. I felt I wanted for absolutely nothing and all of my needs were considered and taken care of. Genuinely I left feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated. I loved how peaceful it felt, especially sitting on the porch and looking out on to the garden. I loved having conversations with Robert and seeing his beautiful art. He is remarkably talented and his paintings portray such expression and movement and translate the mundane parts of daily Balinese life into what it truly is, something so beautiful. And being in this villa I felt like I had access to a private gallery where all these wonderful pieces were on display (and they are available for purchase which is genuinely marvelous) I loved the room, it is enormous! and the mattress…. The mattress was incredible. Most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on. The bathroom was gorgeous and spacious and the plunge pool in the back is so refreshing especially on hot days. I genuinely couldn’t find a more perfect place to spend time in Bali. If you are mindful that it’s further out… I assure you there is a world within Villa Koi and Keramas/ The Saba area that deserves to be explored and that anything that might interest you is within reach, accessible and reasonably priced. Plus the best food areas, at incredibly reasonable prices are in the surrounding area. Unfortunately I didn’t take enough photos retrospectively, they don’t do justice to how beautiful this space is

I genuinely couldn’t find a single thing I did not like about Villa Koi and I doubt you will either.

Beautiful decoration & paintings All necessities provided

Amazing! Felt like coming home, super relaxed atmosphere, the host is, no doubt, the most relaxed and friendly guy ever. He makes amazing art and has a garden where you can sit and relax all day watching the koi and plants or chill in the private pool. Hobo and Rusty are the cutest! Thank you so much!!!

We were looking for 'real Bali' - not a resort or a busy tourist area but a spot amongst the locals. We wanted peace, privacy and comfort, and time to slow down and experience Balinese life. After reading the reviews for Villa Koi I shortlisted it but then kept coming back to it. I'm so glad I did. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The villa itself is huge, spotless, incredibly comfortable and welcoming. The huge double doors lead into your own private art gallery with an enormous bed (and I'm very fussy and can't sleep on hard beds). The bathroom is bigger than most bedrooms and we absolutely loved it. The plunge pool is great and we spent many hours in there every day and night. The porch area out the front is absolute bliss, looking out at the garden and koi pond. We had 11 nights there and didn't want to leave. The villa is every bit as good as the reviews, and the people make this place absolutely perfect. Robert is a gem, a real gentleman who cares for you like an old friend. Kadek and Ketut are beautiful people who look after the place and any trips you might like to do. Veronica gives the best massage I've ever had and will come to the villa. Everyone around Villa Koi added something warm and memorable to our stay. For food we dined up the road at Mournia many nights, a 1 minute walk away, and couldn't speak more highly of the young Balinese staff. If you're looking for a place to really unwind, or a comfortable base to come home to at the end of busy days exploring, trust the reviews and book Villa Koi before you miss out. It's a unique home away from home, visually stunning, incredibly comfortable with hosts who feel like your oldest friends but also give you all the privacy you want. And a special shout out to the very chilled out Hobo and Rusty who hung out with us on the porch and greeted us each time we came home. We'll be back. We loved it.

There's nothing we didn't like.

We loved every single thing- The host Robert and his laid back but personable vibes! the greenery, the amazing art all around the property, the beautiful old Chinese and Indonesian artifacts scattered around The property, the amazing and impressive architecture of the buildings, and all the comforts and touches inside. The location couldn’t be better, quiet and lots of big trees around. Robert seems very passionate about the area and seems to give a lot back to the community in whatever way he can which is so great to see. He is an absolute gentleman and so great to talk to (and his art is also Awsome!) We are already thinking about when we can come Back and stay here again 🤩
