No hot water. The shower head would not remain in an upright position. The thermostatic valve was broken off the radiator. There are no staff on duty for most of the day. No lift, rooms spread across four floors.

Good location and clean room

I was looking for last minute accommodation to stay over in Belfast following my participation in the Belfast Marathon. Hotels were at a premium for the night, but the Botanic Rest stood out on Booking.com as it had accommodation that suited my needs and at a very reasonable price, and there were plenty of toilet/shower facilities within the building for sharing. A simple single room that was fitted out with everything that I could need for my short stay, and from my Queen's student days, I knew that it was situated in a very nice part of the city within walking distance of the city centre but with good public transport links on the doorstep. There were also plenty of cafes, diners, and bars in the immediate vicinity for food, drinks, and entertainment. I was not aware of the Botanic Rest before, but I will certainly check out its availability in future when I plan to stay over in Belfast.

There was nothing that I disliked about the accommodation.

The room was very neat and the staff members were very helpful and friendly!

I think the room rate was a bit high and the wardrobe was small
