*⭐ An Unforgettable Stay in the Heart of Ella!* The best place on my Ella trip was Forest Ravana Homestay. This place is truly a paradise in the middle of tea plantations, at the foot of the mountains. Talking about the *location*, it is within walking distance of Ravana Cave. When you wake up in the morning, everything around you is peaceful and beautiful. It is also a 7 min drive to Ella town. We can't forget to talk about the *food*! The rice & curry, hoppers, string hoppers made with fresh vegetables grown in the home garden are all super delicious. The portions are also very large. The breakfast and dinner are 10/10. The *people* are the soul of this place. The mother, father, son, and daughter all treated us like family. They arranged day trips, found tuk rides, showed us places to take photos. No help was too much. The rooms are clean and spacious. I 100% recommend this place to nature lovers and those who want an authentic Sri Lankan experience on a budget. Don't hesitate, book a room here during your stay in Ella! You won't regret it.

The hidden gem we found in Ella, Wild Ravana Homestay, is great value for money. The place is right in the middle of the tea estates, no noise at night. Total peace. It was great to stay here before going to Ella Rock Climbing. Five minutes walk to Ravana Cave and two minutes walk to Ravana Kovil. As for the food, they came and cooked for me from their own garden. For breakfast there was eggs, bread, jam, butter, chutney, roti, polsambal and dal. I was lucky enough to eat that food. I give these people 5 stars because the family is very friendly. They had tuk tuk taxis to walk around on a budget. They treated us like relatives who came home, not like guests. The most important thing is that there is a small staircase to get there, but they carried all our luggage. If I go to Ella, I will definitely stay there. I will 100% go back.

Famille extrêmement accueillante et sympathique. Petit déjeuner très bons et copieux. Repas du soir sri lankais top également ! Vue sur la jungle depuis le grand balcon et ses animaux, notamment l’écureuil géant du Sri Lanka ! Chambre familiale spacieuse et accueillante. Servie de laundry sur place et joli temple juste à côté.

Bon à savoir : pas de repas servi le midi mais restaurants en bas de la côte à 10/15 minutes à pied. Nécessité d’aller en tuk tuk à la ville (si besoin)

The view is amazing and very near to Ravana Caves. The breakfast spread is very good. There are nearly 50 steep steps to reach the rooms. So it's not recommended for elderly people.

Es gab einen großen Balkon mit schöner Aussicht. Das Personal war wirklich sehr bemüht und hat uns mehrfach mit dem Transport ausgeholfen. Ansonsten war das Frühstück wirklich sehr lecker und reichhaltig. Ein paar der Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie zum Beispiel der Cave Tempel sind zu Fuß erreichbar. Für kürzere Aufenthalte ist das homestay sicher in Ordnung.

Unser 3-Bett Zimmer war, als wir ankamen, an einigen Stellen verschmutzt, unter anderem an der Bettwäsche. Das Badezimmer war ebenfalls nicht richtig gereinigt und es gab Spinnenweben an den Möbeln und in den Ecken der Räume. Das Wasser im Badezimmer war die ersten zwei Nächte eiskalt und tröpfelte, aufgrund des sehr geringen Wasserdrucks aus dem Duschkopf (da es in Ella ohnehin schon sehr kalt war, war die kalte Dusche kaum aushaltbar) - das Personal konnte dieses Problem glücklicherweise nach 2 Tagen lösen, der Wasserdruck blieb allerdings weiter unverändert... Preislich war das eine unserer teuersten Unterkünfte, während unserer gesamten 6-Wöchigen Sri Lanka Reise und dafür waren wir am Ende ziemlich enttäuscht. Da das Personal während des gesamten Aufenthaltes wirklich sehr freundlich war, hoffen wir, dass sie sich diese Kritik im positiven Sinne zu Herzen nehmen.

Everyone was very helpful arranging day trips / rides to and from sites around Ella. The food was also very good. I highly recommend staying here.

Amazing and very quite place, but not far from the centre of Ella. Very close to the old temple and cave, 5 min by walk. Absolutely fantastic and helpful staff and the owners. Wonderful breakfast.
