Zzzip Guesthouse in Hongdae

This was my second time staying here and, just like last time, the hosts exceeded all expectations. Zzzip feels less like a guesthouse and more like staying with your uncle and aunt because Jina and Bryan will go out of their way to ensure you have a comfortable stay. If you're not sure of where to go or how to spend your day, they are more than happy to give you several recommendations. Booking trips (like the DMZ tour) or making reservations (like a spa) can be challenging if you don't speak Korean, but Jina and Bryan gladly do so for their guests. Personally, I had really wanted to buy a specific item but couldn't find a physical store that was selling it, so Jina used her own account to place the order for me and had it delivered through overnight delivery. The way they have set things up creates a very social environment and, if you're a solo traveler like me, it's very easy for you to find friends to do things with as a group. However, by no means is it a "party hostel". You will not have to experience people playing loud music or chatting loudly into the night. If you're someone who likes to go to bed early, rest assured they have strict quiet hours and enforce them. The location is excellent because it's within walking distance of both Hongdae (roughly 10 minutes) and Hapjeong subway station (about 3 minutes) which makes it easy to travel to any point in the city. The neighborhood itself has great restaurants and cafes and you can walk to the Han River in about ten minutes.
