Honey beach hostel

Great location near the beach and restaurants! The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever I had questions or needed directions. My room had AC, but the rooms also have fans, so it never felt too hot. It’s a budget-friendly place. Overall, a great stay!

I booked a double room. I asked some questions before arrival and the answers were not very clear. When I arrived, the room was not ready, although I had informed the owner I would arrive between 6 and 7 pm. I had to wait until the room was cleaned up. There was still some rubbish in the room and in the bathroom. The room looks better in the pictures than in reality. In the window there were pieces of paper sticked on the glass instead of a curtain. The place was creepy, no one was ever around, zero atmosphere. It's just a bed and a roof over your head, don't expect anything more. Furthermore, Negombo has nothing to offer apart from an ugly beach stinking of fish and a main road with a lot of cars and noisy restaurants.

No reply to my messages, couldn’t find the location of the hostel, even my taxi guy tried, so I ended up staying in a big hotel, Worse thing ever, Owner or the number on booking.com does not work, there is no way to reach them, I don’t recommend this place to any body… I clearly stated every thing via e mail, but never got a single reply

I recently stayed at a hostel, and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing stays I’ve had. The biggest letdown was the complete lack of any proper hangout areas. One of the main reasons I choose hostels is for the social aspect, but this place had no communal spaces where guests could relax or interact. It felt more like a cold, impersonal boarding house than a hostel. Adding to the unpleasant atmosphere was the staff. They were unfriendly and unapproachable, making it difficult to ask for help or even basic information. Their lack of warmth and effort made the stay feel unwelcoming and isolating. While the location wasn’t terrible, the absence of amenities and poor staff attitude completely overshadowed any positives. If you’re looking for a hostel that fosters a sense of community and offers a welcoming environment, this is definitely not the place.

Location was fine and it was nice to have AC in the room.
