Jungle River Lodge

Little bit off the beaten path in all the good ways. Easy access, little community around and the river and its surroundings will take your breath away. Run by travellers of the world. Highly recommended.

Just realize that its pretty remote from town, so limited options for food etc.

The river rafting was excellent with great rapids and beautiful forest setting. The lodge is in a beautiful location on the edge of Pico Bonito National Park. The food was great. Staff super friendly.

The road to the lodge is in a bad state. I had rental sedan car and managed but had to drive really slowly.

Good location, common area nicely made

Quite expensive (for budget travellers) both the accommodation and food which you have to buy at the accommodation since there are no real options around (breakfast/lunch/dinner around 10$)- overall value for money is mediocre.

Lovely stay in the nature.

Due the low season and consequences of the storm, it felt a bit death.

1. The location was incredible. Overlooking the river with natural rock pools to dip in, cliffs to jump from and a stunning view of a wall of green jungle to stare and dream at. Toucans flying over, plus plenty of other bird life. 2. Cathy was a friendly host who looked out for all her guests, helped to arrange trips and activities, and provided a sociable atmosphere in the communal spaces to help people connect. Any problems that arose Cathy was ready to find a solution - super important in the remote jungle! 3. The river rafting!! Super fun, don’t miss out!

The views from the Lodge are spectacular, the pools for swimming are clean with continually flowing water. I also enjoyed swimming in the river. The food was good and a fair price. I recommend the hike to the waterfall. A relaxing spot to stay a few days with helpful friendly staff
