Iris Cretan Mountain Escape

Everything was perfect Thanks to Iris Great location and peaceful place

We stayed in this house for 12 days and had a truly wonderful experience. The location is excellent—quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view, yet perfectly situated. You can reach stunning beaches within a short drive, and the famous gorges of Crete are all within about an hour, making it ideal for hiking enthusiasts. At the same time, Chania is only about 20 minutes away. The house itself is spacious, very clean, and comfortably accommodates up to six people with its six beds—perfect for families or groups. It is in excellent condition and equipped with everything you could possibly need. We especially appreciated the privacy, the tranquility, and the many opportunities nearby for walking and cycling. It’s a great place to relax but also to stay active. A special mention goes to the host: when I had some health issues during our stay, she immediately stepped in, helped me find doctors, and took great care of everything. Her support was truly outstanding and made a big difference for us. Even on days with bad weather, the house offers plenty of comfort, including a large TV, soundbar, and streaming services. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and can highly recommend this place!

The only small thing we personally missed were sun lounger. The large terrace is fantastic and some lounging options would make it even more enjoyable.

If you are looking for a quiet place with an ambience of Cretan countryside with all it's beauty, like sounds of birds and sheep or goats, smell of blooming orange trees, magnificent sunrises, then this is a place for you. Most kindhearted host, spacious apartment with fully equipped kitchen and other amenities, lovely sunny terrace - we had a most heartwarming, cozy and relaxing stay. In 8 minute drive there is an excellent food store which offers quality vegetables, dairy and meet products from local farmers. Lots of impressive hikes and other places of interest in 30-40 min by car. We hope we will be able to come back once again.

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem wundervollen Apartment auf Kreta war einfach unvergesslich. Schon beim Ankommen waren wir begeistert: Die Wohnung ist unglaublich schön, lichtdurchflutet und bis ins kleinste Detail geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Alles ist blitzsauber und man fühlt sich sofort wohl, fast wie ein zweites Zuhause. Ein absolutes Highlight ist die Aussicht, einfach traumhaft! Egal ob morgens beim Kaffee oder abends beim Sonnenuntergang, dieser Blick bleibt im Herzen. Die Gastgeberin Iris ist wirklich außergewöhnlich: unglaublich herzlich, zuverlässig und jederzeit erreichbar. Sie kümmert sich sofort um alles und sorgt dafür, dass es einem an nichts fehlt. Man merkt, wie viel Liebe und Engagement sie in dieses Apartment steckt. Es ist wirklich alles vorhanden, was man braucht, und sogar mehr. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt spontan verlängert, weil wir uns einfach nicht lösen konnten, das sagt eigentlich schon alles. :) Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und können diese Unterkunft von Herzen empfehlen. Our stay at this apartment was absolutely fantastic. The stunning views, elegant interior, and modern equipment made for a perfect experience. We especially loved the high ceilings and the delightful terrace, where any meals can be enjoyed. Iris’s attention to detail in the renovation is evident throughout the house, adding to its charm and comfort.

It would be great if flatter sleep pillows were provided.
