Quiet and far away from crazyness

It was very nice and the food at the restaurant was amazing!

Our room was a really good size and the patio outside had a great view of the sea and sunrise watching. The restaurant had good dinner options. The staff was super friendly and aim to please.

There is nothing we didn’t like

Very quiet little inn in a very quiet location, so be prepared to do little other than sample a couple of local spots and walk through town to the beach, unless you want to drive. The hotel restaurant, run by a really lovely couple, offered really great meals. Best ceviche ever!

There is no kitchen, although it looks like there’s one in the photos of the apartments. This was a problem for us as we stayed a week and had hoped to feed ourselves for some specific dietary needs. It took us a while to slow down enough to just enjoy being there rather than doing things. There’s not much to do - a very nice bar and pizza joint, the hotel, and a beach.

Quiet Place! (Of course, this hotel is in the middle of nowhere!).

Hotel is located in EL Cardonal (about 30± km north of Los Barriles), and the road leading to Hotel is Los Barriles Santa Maria. Do not be MISLED that Hotel location is in Los Barriles. There is no available public transportation (Uber, Taxi, Bus). You would have to arrange your own. The Bus Station Clerk was nice enough to lend a private driver she knew, but I paid USD75 one way. The return-trip was USD50! The Rooms #4 and #5 bathroom/toilet smell SO BAD due to open plumbing pipes. I was told by the owner (Alexis Lucero) himself that the underground SEPTIC TANK emanating this smell. I called booking.com cust. service to complain about this truth in renting my room. I will submit a complaint with my credit card bank!

Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite remote but that gives it its charm. You are within walking distance from a few convenience stores in town which has basics if you forget something. Overall it was a lovely stay!

Room was very spacious & nicely decorated. the view was very nice. The pool was great, cool water & very refreshing. The restaurant food was tasty. We enjoyed our breakfast, lunch and a pizza dinner and all were good. Helpful & friendly staff. Good parking area. Short 3 block walk to the beach. Frig & microwave were useful. The rooftop deck has a wonderful view & was a nice spot for a cocktail at sunset. If we were returning to the area this is where we would stay.

We couldn't get any english speaking channels or programs on the TV. The neighborhood animals were noisy (barking dogs, and roosters 24x7), so bring your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

Great place. A small restaurant/bar that had good food. Nicely decorated and a pool. It actually had two beds not side by side, separated by a wall. Could have had 4 people.

Nothing against the hotel. This is a very small town, located 28 km from the main road. It is cash only for the food part so make sure you have fuel and cash before heading that direction. Few spots to eat.

Good value. Interesting location.

The facilities were mediocre. While the description of the kitchenette was accurate (microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker), we only had 2 coffee cups. No silverware utensils. No other dishes. No glasses. We kind of enjoyed the vocal roosters next door, but not everyone would.

Location was amazing, everyone is extremely friendly. Awesome and clean beaches.
