Dark Ridge HideOut

This place was disgusting!I First, the smell of cigar smoke was overwhelming, Secondly, it was dirty - I could scrape dirty up off the edges of the carpet around the bedroom, including right beside the bed (see pictures). Secondly, the closet in the bedroom had a floor made of fiberboard and it was rotted out (see picture). The ceiling over the bed was brown from repeated wetting, and loose (see picture). And the head of the bed tilted down. The bed was not made when we arrived. It was just so nasty - the whole thing. There was dirt in the bathroom and though clean, old mold behind the caulking of the shower door. Mostly though, the smell and dirty sad bedroom drove us out. We cancelled asap, despite the hour drive to get there and the fact we had no other accommodations. When I went to cancel I wrote him first, waited, wrote again 1-2 times. Then I contacted booking. Booking negotiated the cancellation and said all was taken care of. 2 weeks later, my credit card is coming due and there is no refund payment. That is really sucky. So - buyer beware, both of this site and bookings refund system. I tried to report this site as unfit so booking would take it off the site, but all I can do is write this review and hope you heed it. I read one review that reflected this, the rest were glowing. There is a reason for that. Apparently there are 2 RV's for rent here and the O said he didn't mean for the last reviewee to get this nasty place. When I called to cancel, he wanted it done swiftly to he could open it for booking (the nice one already had people in it) - so don't think he won't rent the nasty one out to you. Picture order: ceiling, dirty and stains beside head of bed, closet rotting (distant) dirty I scraped up (1 inch high) off side of room carpet, dirt beside shower, rotted closet floor.

Everything physical about the space. The guy was friendly, but he knows he's booking a nasty RV. The land is lovely...but still, this is 'accommodation' is not nice to stay in.

Creekside, fire pit, nature, privacy,very friendly owner and staff!

Long distance drive to stores but still not too bad. Air conditioner needs a little work. Very nice setup and I will definitely revisit in the future.

The setup of everything was great. Nice view, location and cost. Experience was better than expected!

Nothing worth complaining about.

I had no idea what type of experience I would have at dark ridge. Curtis the host, was very friendly and made me feel like I was part of the family. I would recommend dark ridge hide out to anyone who wants a relaxing quiet place to unwind...

The only thing I didn't like was that I didn't have time for a longer stay... Thank u Curtis for making my stay so enjoyable
