Warning- do not book this hostel! The hostel does not exist anymore. We booked and paid in advance just to find out the hostel is now a residential house. Still trying to get my refund

"Cutest double room I've been"

Il Giardino is a very elegant and pleasant hostel near the center of San Cristobal Las Casas, less than 10 minutes walking from the main square. I loved their kitchen as they have plenty of tools and shared spices, food in general that you can use during your stay. Stayed in the double bedroom facing the beautiful garden, very good natural light and soft artificial light. They supplied us with towels and loads of blankets. I also like that there is a toilet apart from the bathroom with the shower, makes everything easier. Found many friendly interesting backpackers there, good vibes.

The only thing I would be critical about, is the absence of a cleaning lady that daily comes to check on the facilities everyone is using. The owners were staying out of town for few days and nobody came to clean the bathroom, the kitchen, the garbage bins or even a room that had done check-out. I'm sure it was just a coincidence but It's my advice to take good care of the place because it's a gem! 😘 I'd definitely come back
