"Ideal for short trips where you want to be central and in a quiet property"

9.0

Great quiet street, was visiting for Rebellion Festival but had to work first half of each day so it worked for getting rest at night and focussing during the day. The owner / manager was very friendly and helpful, letting us use the kitchen, welcoming us in the lounge, and even sharing some of his amazing spicy potatos with us, so don't be shy to strike up a conversation! The accommodation is very clean and spacious, the toilet is really big with a great walk in shower and the bed was very comfortable. It's not the sort of typical Blackpool hotel with a bar but that's what I wanted.

Some of the furniture and features might seem basic / old-fashioned but it's got character (we had a lovely chaise longue in our room), our door was a little difficult to lock too but the staff helped explain and we got the knack of it.

"I’d stay again but a little love is needed to bring the room to top condition."

5.0

It would be wrong of me to give this hotel a bad score, that’s why I’m in the middle at 5, I hope it was just maybe my room but it felt just a little run down, the bedding felt like perhaps it hadn’t been changed, it was definitely a bit too big for the bed, the mattress was very tired, you could feel the spring unit, like the filling had worn away. It’s safe to say that the room (6) is in need of some love, it was overall clean on the eye but when you look closely behind things, there is a lot of dust and dirt build up, an hour with a cloth and some soapy water would see it all right, sadly the cups were not particularly clean and the kettle had left over water, this is never a good thing so I did not have a brew. An extra pillow per person would have been an absolute bonus as well, unfortunately the ones on the bed have also seen their best. This isn’t a negative review, it’s just general criticism of things that could be addressed. Being a room only hotel, it does have good facilities and for the price, it’s good but it could be great.

The main pet peeve is the fact that room 6 is right next to the bathroom, it would benefit from some sound insulation, as you can hear literally everything in the bathroom.
