Jayanti's

Ms. Jayanti always supported us to ensure our trip was fulfilling. She helped us arrange tuk-tuks and safari tours, and helped us book Ayurvedic massages. She has many trusted friends in the community, and she was very helpful in introducing us to people we needed. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. There was a beautiful garden, and she let us hang out our laundry. For breakfast, she prepared something different every day, and we enjoyed both European and Sri Lankan styles. Ms. Jayanti always thinks about what is best for her guests and makes proactive suggestions. We are grateful that she treated us like family.

There is no electric kettle. I ordered tea and was charged on the last day. It's a reasonable fee, but it would be nice if they let me know in advance. I think many guests would appreciate it if they had a thermos and cups in the room so they could drink tea whenever they want. I think most guests usually bring their own tea bags.

Die Gastgeberin Jayanti ist superlieb und kümmert sich rührend. Man sollte nicht versäumen, gemeinsam mit ihr zu kochen. Sechs fantastische Curries haben wir ( na gut, eigentlich sie) gezaubert - mit die leckersten unserer bisherige Reise. Das Zimmer ist groß, sehr sauber und hat alles, was man so braucht. Toll war die sehr leise Klimaanlage. Das Guesthouse liegt sehr ruhig und hat einen schönen Garten.

Jayanthi provides a rural homestay with the added benefit of air conditioning. She is an exceptionally attentive host, and an amazing cook. We enjoyed delicious homemade breakfast and snacks, and guidance on cooking techniques with an expert demonstration. We can now make Sri Lankan curry that tastes authentic. Jayanthi was able to recommend an excellent safari guide at a competitive rate. Our safari experience was great - 30 ISH elephants - on an unhurried tour. Laundry was handled for us by a neighbour, again very competitive and super convenient. The room is basic but adequate. I would have liked a kettle in the room, and said as much to Jayanthi - maybe there will be one for the next guests. We walked and ran from the residence. Around lion rock and further afield. Great hiking and running. Plenty of places to take in the views and buy water along the way. We saw lots of wildlife on our outings. Be warned - don't walk or run after dark or before dawn. Wild elephants can be a problem. Our heartfelt thanks to Jayanthi for a lovely stay.

Almost everything was perfect for rural homestay. The only thing I would have welcomed was a kettle in the room. Having said that. Jayanthi insisted we could ask for tea or coffee any time we liked.

We really felt at home with Jayanti and her family, she is so caring, fun and hospitable with a good heart. We stayed one night and the rooms were clean, the breakfast was delicious, the locations was idyllic and she helped us with everything we needed. We also had a cooking class where we made the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far🤗 Highly recommend to anyone coming to Sigiriya!!

Jayanti is the nicest person. She made our stay super nice. We can highly recommend to stay at her Homestay. The cooking class was great. It’s simple but you have everything you need, especially a wonderful hospitality of Jayanti. The food is great there.

You can have some insects in the bathroom but of course that’s normal in the nature.

Incredible friendly and helpful host. Every wish was more than fulfilled. Breakfast and dinner were sooo delicious. Even a cooking class was made for me alone. Thank you so much!! Only 10 mins walk to Lion Rock. Very easy.

We highly recommend Jayanti’s! We stayed for a week and felt at home straight away. The room is spacious, clean & comfortable. Jayanti made our stay, she is a very lovely lady! We will also miss her sweet dog laura, thank you!

we really enjoyed the location of the homestay as it is located a bit outside of the main road/tourist area. Free drinking water is available and if you pre-order it, you can also eat lunch and dinner there. Jayanti's lovely dog Lora was very friendly towards us and Jayanti hereself is a great host (we didn't have the chance to book it but she also offers cooking classes)

what a heart warming experience. Our host Jayanti cared about us like a mother. The room is really big with a lot of storage possibilities. It has an AC, hot shower and in the front a nice terrace to relax. the homestay is surrounded by local homes and many plants so you get the full Sri Lankan experience. the lion rock is reachable by foot and to go to the village you can easily order a tuktuk or organise a bicycle.
