St Marys Apartment

Owner was very friendly, was in a good location and quiet. Bed and sofa bed was comfortable. Living room and kitchen was clean. Lots of free parking available around the corner.

Felt mislead about balcony being private, no seaview as trees covered it. Balcony was out of front door up some stairs to the driveway so everyone can see you. It was used also by landlord who owned all the building putting washing out. Had to call landlord staightaway as no main lights worked in the living room, and tap lever was broken. He came over later that evening and advised could not fix it and used a lamp instead and he would fix the lever another time we agreed. Also lamp was then replaced also in bedroom as one wasnt working. All should be checked before people arrive. They had a lockbox but didnt use it and had to call once we arrived to find out where keys are.

The host Les was very welcoming and apartment with terrace was excellent value for money for the 4 of us.

I would have liked a more comfortable sofa bed, the bed was excellent in the bedroom but sofa bed could be changed to a bigger and more padded mattress, saying that its only a light niggle as value for money was really good for all four of us and would visit again.

Presented exactly how it looks in the photos. Great location with convenient access to the town.

The location was very good for exploring the old town and also for going to other places like Battle and Eastbourne.

That booking.com got the owners contact details wrong, which caused added stress to our journey.

Good location, close to beach. Fair value

Poor communication. Messaged several times to arrange arrival. Ended up waiting around for 30mins to get access to the property. Owners contact details were incorrect on the booking.com website so was unable to call owner. Small details need improvement such as new batteries in the clocks - none of which worked. Hair dryer had 2 pin plug with no adaptors available to plug in. Igniter for gas oven didn't appear to work and no lighter available in the property. "Sun terrace" was a dumping ground

Location and views were great

Apartment hadn't been cleaned, bed had been slept in, cleaner came back to fix the issue but the bathroom was still dirty. Owner made excuses but didn't accept responsibility. Building was covered in scaffolding. There was no sofa bed as advertised and the apartment was very bright with thin curtains.
