GBCasa Ricardo is a beautiful place walking distance to the canyon. It is a mix between a homestay and a hostel. The hostel is part of the family home. It was nice to meet the family who were all really friendly and helpful if we ever needed anything. We had delicious home cooked Nicaragua food cooked for us each meal for a small cost. As it's a remote location without many shops or restaurants close by. But only a 15 bus ride to Somoto if you want go to a restaurant. The food was delicious and kept us well fuelled for our excursions to the canyon. There are hammocks and space to relax after a busy day. It was a really enjoyable experience and great value for money. Ricardo also gave us a life back to the bus station when we left which was very kind.
IEWe loved the friendly hosts, the delicious food and the canyon tour. It was also pet friendly which we really liked and we could park our motorbikes safely.
The facilities are basic and there is no WiFi which we struggled without since we had to work.
