"Ruhige, komfortable und geräumige Unterkunft"

8.0

Spotlessly clean, neat and well fitted out. Most beautiful views. We were made most welcome.

Was quite hard to find the address!

Nice place to stay if you need to break the journey to Cornwall or the south west somewhere. The property is an old bunk house so it is actually very big and feels a bit too big at times. very nice view from the windows.

Quite a long walk to the bathroom. The railings outside are rusty and spoil the view a bit. I thought it was a bit expensive for what it was.

"Nice enough but wouldn’t stay again"

5.0

Lovely location and view, and nice and close to Exeter. The property is modern enough inside, and spacious for a short break.

We didn’t get any arrival instructions or directions and so found it hard to find. After driving round the village for 20 minutes we called the owners, who guided us in. The beds were awful, all 4 of had a terrible nights sleep in all 3 bedrooms, and the bedding and crispy towels felt very cheap. The bedrooms are very basic with a half size hanging rail in the corner of one room, which seemed like an after thought and made getting in and out of bed very awkward. There is mold on the ceiling of the bathroom, and shabby paint flaking off around the windows. The outside is very messy and overgrown. There are lots of building materials laying around the Annex and house below, which made it look like a work in progress, although have seen a review from 2024 saying the same thing, so maybe not. We also found it dusty and with cobwebs, so not sure when it was cleaned last. Think it could be a lot more than it is with a bit of thought and money spent on it. As someone who manages 30 holiday homes myself, I know the little things can make a world of difference. Even something like a pint of milk in the fridge so we can have a cuppa after a very long drive :)

"Good accommodation for visiting area"

Ideal layout for a family

Outside space would benefit from regular maintenance and update new bench and parasol as views are lovely and a good outside family space

"Excellent self catering accomodation"

9.0

The Annex was very clean and had everything needed for a long weekend away with 6 family members. Accommodating to our 2 dogs. Very comfortable beds and living space.

No complaints. May benefit from putting an extra toilet in the bathroom as well as the separate toilet but otherwise, fantastic facilities.

"Perfect place to stay when escaping to the countryside."

10.0

The stay at the Annex was really good, we came to the area to visit Diggerland and the location was spot on. One thing we really enjoyed was the patio with the stunning views over the countryside, perfect backdrop for our morning coffee and evening BBQ. Stephane met us on arrival and gave us a nice tour of the place. There were games for our son to play with, and the internet and wifi was strong and reliable.

Nothing. The one point to know is that there is a steep hill up to the property that could be difficult for larger cars to navigate or getting up/down with a buggies/pushchair, but that would be the only point, and we managed ok with an SUV car.
