Chez Papy

The studio is nice and my stay was pleasent. I was able to change my dates after I booked by mistake my stay for a day later than I wanted. The studio offers a good option if you are looking for privacy at an affordable price. Initially there was some problem with the interet the first evening, but then that got solved and there was no issue with the connection. There are utensils for cooking (oil would be a nice plus), but cooking was a bit slow without covers using both stoves at the same time, maybe using them separately would provide more power. There was no tools to was the plates and pots, but we agreed it was to leave them like that for later cleaning (if you plan to cook in several days in a row maybe downstairs they can lend you some utensiles, just as the owner; I left the key downstairs at check-out. I did not find a towel, maybe you can ask for one if you do not have. There was soap. Good quality-price ration for a price around main/central Dakar. There is a place to load with clean water your bottle(s) to the right from the appartment (by the end of the main street (some 150 m from the school compound). You can find those all around Dakar, you should try them, it costs 50 Fr for 1.5L.

Very spacious apartment in a convenient location near Liberté 5 for the Dem Dikk bus terminal, equipped with stovetop burners, a clean fridge, a large bathtowel, hot water and nice wide-screen TV. I like that guests have a separate entry from the main house, with good locks on outside door and apartment door.

Accessing the TV film channels was a bit complicated, but Monsieur Papy sent someone up to open the programme, and the next day, with a bit of fiddling, I managed it on my own. It would also be nice to have a bright reading lamp in the bedroom. But all in all, a good, comfortable stay, and the host is helpful with any needs.
