Ubizane Zululand Tree Lodge

Beautiful lodge in the middle of nature. Cute tree houses, spacious. The lounge and restaurant area was beautiful. Food was simple but good. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool is located in the safari lodge area (about 5’ drive from the tree lodge area).

It’s obvious that they are still recovering after having been closed for a long time. There are some little things that would be nice to improve: - put some curtains/blinds in the room - make sure the bathroom/wc door can actually close - offer more game drive safari in Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park (and in my opinion at least 4h). Now only 3h sunrise game drive available. The entrance is about 15’ away, so just 2h30m for a game drive in such a big park is quite short. Having the option of an afternoon-evening game drive would also be nice.

The setting of the lodge and rooms in the fever tree forest is simply stunning. Its proximity to the Memorial Gate at Hluhluwe iMfolozi makes this the perfect base to explore the park

The lodge has only recently re-opened after being closed during Covid. The new owner is trying very hard, and the impending liquor license approval and authority to drive guests into the park will be huge additions
