The Snowshoe Lodge

It worked well for or family of 4 and we were able to bring our dog.

We were there during the winter and weren’t able to effectively turn the heat down, but better too hot than too cold.

Our room was the only one without curtains or window treatments. We had to get extra blankets from the office to hang on the bedroom windows. Other than that it was clean, spacious, warm, easy location.

We had mixed feelings about our stay. The room was very nice, large and well appointed, and the outside of the motel was lovely. However, our access was via outside stairs and a porch, and no one thought to shovel. We were hopping through a snow mound and climbing up snow covered stairs (it snowed quite a bit during our 3 day stay) Someone had disconnected the TV cable and it took us a while to figure it out. I put food in the fridge and it was frozen solid the next day. It could have been a great stay, but wasn't.

The lodge was beautifully decorated and had a cozy feel. The bed was soft and comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with enough pans and cutlery that you could cook if you wished. It was walking distance into town so restaurants were in easy reach (and close to the brewery!) and it was only about 15 mins drive to get up into the mountains. There was also a lovely view of the mountains from the front. It snowed heavily while we were there and they cleared the paths and car park so we could easily get out. As it was due to be really cold overnight they kindly offered us extra blankets, but it wasn’t needed as the rooms were lovely and warm anyway.

My only disappointment was the shower, it cycled between too hot and too cold. I need a good hot shower when I’ve been skiing all day!

It was very good. Suggestions: need bar soap, clear cups for water and rinsing.

Clean, big room. Close to everything. Amazing value.

We had a fantastic overall experience. Absolutely will stay here again.

Nice location and mostly a good place. But shower was hard to control temperature, sometimes just luck warm water. Very low water pressure at sink.
