Blue Sunset Hostel

I loved the breathtaking view, birds and dragonflies surrounding the lookout, a variety of food and drinks and the laid back vibe providing comfort and a 'Feel like home'-feeling. Will 100% stay here again !!!

This hostel is very nice. The price for the room is amazing as u have a balcony to sit out and see the amazing views. Bed very comfortable. Hot shower. Pa and Ooona are very friendly hosts. Great location, quiet, away from the busy touristy area. Lots of nice places to eat nearby.

New better quality pillows needed and a non slip mat for the bathroom floor as the floor is wet after taking a shower. A kettle and a few cups in the room would be ideal to make coffee.

Obviously the price is a major attraction at this hostel, at $8 per night for a private room it was one of the cheapest places we have stayed in the whole of SE Asia. They use the correct up-to-date LAK/USD conversion too so you don't end up overpaying. The hostel is in a great location close to the centre of Vang Vieng town with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Hostel staff were friendly and polite. The bar area was a pleasant place to sit and you could get coffee, cold beer, etc at a reasonable price. WiFi in the bar area was fast enough to watch live video streams so pretty good. Our room was a good size and had air conditioning and a fan so it was nice and cool for sleeping. I had a good sleep although the pillows were a bit thin.

Hard to be too critical at such a cheap price but there were a few things that were difficult to overlook. Firstly, the room cleanliness (room 202) was not up to scratch; there were blood stains on one of the pillows and remains of squashed mosquitoes on the wall. The bathroom did not drain properly so there was always a puddle by the toilet. In our room there was no WiFi access at all (couldn't even see the network on 2 phones and a laptop), had to go up 2 floors to the bar to use the Internet. Table in the room was very unsteady to the point of being unusable as it looked like it would fall over when anything was put on it.

View is okay

Many room is under the Bar so too loud until Midnight. Around guesthouse so many wild dogs . especially night time they threatened me all the time. Many kind of bugs inside room including spider because close to mountain. Everyday electric shutdown , water not come out also. They have wifi but no signals in the room . air-conditioner can't change the temperature just 22℃ fixed. Remote can't working. Wifi signal only at lobby.

I loved the location; it is so far the best location I've found in Laos. The people who stay here are also amazing. Love the sandwiches, mattresses are super comfy, and staff and volunteers are supe friendly. Would highly recommend this place :-)

I don't know, I thought this is the best value for money. Great place, great atmosphere.

Best hostel in town. Amazing views, amazing vibes, amazing people. Perfect place if you need to slow down for some days or even weeks. I've loved it and I feel I left the place having a new family.
