Casa San Francesco Rooms

Spacious, open, and beautiful bathroom — everything feels quite new. Also, a lovely view from room 204.

We stayed for 5 nights and 6 days. We booked through Booking.com and paid in advance. The tourist tax listed in our reservation was €16, which we were supposed to pay at the property. However, upon arrival, the staff asked us to pay €32, saying it was for 4 nights due to new procedures in Palermo. We had a confirmed reservation for over a month and had paid more than a week in advance — yet no one informed us about this change. We paid the €32 in cash, but we’re still unsure about the actual tax rate, as the information was confusing. (The staff claimed it was €4 per person per night – according to new regulations in Palermo – but that still doesn’t quite match the amount we paid.) Our reservation didn’t include breakfast, but it was provided, which was a nice surprise. However, the breakfast was very basic and repetitive, with no variety at all. When we entered the room, the temperature was over 30°C. The AC had to be turned on by us, and it never managed to cool the space to a comfortable level — it never went below 28°C. During the last two nights, after 9 or 10 PM, the AC stopped working completely, showing a warning symbol on the unit. We had to open the windows, which brought more heat, mosquitoes, and street noise all night long. The bed was extremely soft and saggy in the middle, causing serious back pain. The pillows were also very poor in quality. There was no cleaning or towel/linen change during our 6-day stay, and we were told that it costs €15 extra. While this might be reasonable for a 2-night stay, for a 5-night stay it would be fair to at least change the towels once. The room’s design and ambiance were beautiful and creative, but unfortunately very uncomfortable. The chairs were not usable — anything more than 5 minutes of sitting caused discomfort. The dishes and cutlery were dusty and didn’t appear ready for guest use.

The location is great - as was the breakfast and the cleanliness and stylish simplicity and comfort of the rooms. But the staff and the work that this place does for troubled youth is the cherry on the top of the cake. Highly recommended.

La limpieza de la habitación, la ubicación cerca de la catedral y la amabilidad del personal. Alberga un proyecto social muy bonito y necesario.

La orientación del aire acondicionado impide que se distribuya por toda la habitación, sugerimos cambiarlo porque se desperdicia energía. También, estaría bien que el desayuno tuviera opciones para gente con intolerancia a la lactosa.

Le logement est idéalement situé. Le personnel est disponible, très à l'écoute ! Le petit-déjeuner proposé est varié . Je recommanderai vivement cet établissement auprès d'une visite future de la ville. Merci à Gabriella et à son équipe. Montant peu élevé au regard des prestations.

Le charme du lieu dans une petite ruelle à deux pas de la cathédrale. Le fait que la Casa San Francesco soit un établissement social actif dans la réinsertion professionnelle. La beauté des chambres dans un bâtiment ancien avec une belle hauteur sous plafond. Emplacement de premier choix.

La Clim était un peu bruyante dans la chambre.
