Fonte dos Pássaros

We loved the location of the property. It was easy to walk everyone we wanted to go in town. The pool area was lovely and a wonderful place to drink our coffee in the morning.

We have been in Portugal for one month, renting mostly apartments or villas. This was the only accommodation that did not have any starter coffee pods, any condiments, any paper towels, or washing tabs to do laundry. For a 2 bedroom villa, with a pool / pool house, it would be nice to have those items provided. Also, I reached out to inquire about the air conditioner controllers bc they were not working. I never received a reply. This was ok as it was cool enough we didn’t need it during the day, but it would have been nice to be able to turn the air on in the bedroom to sleep at night.

The property was amazing, from the outside at the front it didn't look particularly exciting but once inside it opened up and was much larger than expected with a large lounge and dining area that looked out onto the private pool beyond. The kitchen was well appointed. Upstairs the two internal rooms overlooked the pool and there was a bonus separate dwelling beyond the pool at the bottom of the garden, which meant that as three brothers walking the Fishermen's Trail we all had a separate room.

There was some confusion about accessing the property, in the details I received from Booking.com it said that someone would be there to greet us and as we had arrived early we waited around outside the property until nearer the scheduled access time. I tried calling the owner twice but never got an answer. In the end I looked at further information regarding the booking which gave details for people arriving late (after 5pm) and that included the code to the key safe which then enabled us to access the house. This was all very confusing and meant that we hung around for 90 minutes for nothing!

The view from upstairs rooms is great and having a pool is luxurious.

The check in information came very late. That made arriving stressful.
