Beautifully Renovated Old Sweet Shop

Lovely spot with lots of walks and pubs nearby. We found the downstairs space very sociable for our party of 6 and had a great stay.

Parking is on the street buy we did find two spaces outside the house - and it was bank holiday weekend.

Beds comfy, location fantastic. Kitchen well equipped, plenty of downstairs space. Upstairs shower great. Bulls Head pub nearby was a good find. Quiz on Thursday.

Curtains don’t fit properly on windows (also not properly on pole/ hem coming down) so you need an eye mask or you will be woken very early by the light. Blinds would have been good. It’s an old property granted but there was room for improvement with holes in the floor, cracked window pane and a shower downstairs with a panel that wasn’t fitted correctly..The towels had seen better days.

It was very quirky and beautifully presented! Lots of great features and the log burner was super! Nice and warm despite big spaces to heat too. Bathrooms excellent with hot, powerful showers.

One of the sofas was a little hard and not so comfortable sit on, despite its appearance. There was bizarrely only one chopping board?

Huge spaces, comfortable furniture, central to the village, great beds.

Some road noise and noise at night (but we had the windows wide open due to the heat). Outside space is rather cramped but great opportunities for outdoor sitting right on the doorstep.

The house a very lovely place to stay, the living room and kitchen area is nice and big. We loved the location, a short walk down to the river and opposite a local pub, it was a 10 minute drive to Bakewell. We were very pleased our dog could come along and overall the beds were comfy.

The only issue we had was one of the beds was creaky and there wasn't anyone locally to attend to this. Otherwise, the host was responsive and helpful.

The property is in an excellent location with a number of amenities around the local area such as pubs and shops. The walking routes are excellent and the downstairs space is fantastic for big groups.

The back garden needs to be redone. It was a relatively warm weekend, but the rear garden was overgrown. A window in one of the bedrooms needed fixing as it had dropped from its frame meaning the window was constantly open and proved a security risk.

We had a fabulous, relaxing stay in this well equipped home in the centre of Youlgreave. Great walks from the door, 3 pubs in the village and a handy shop.

What a lovely, spacious and characterful property in a beautiful location. Booked the property for the whole family between Christmas and New Year and we had a great time. Walks from the door and a fabulous table which we all played cards around at night.
