The location in the old town of Anguillara was excellent. Quiet , v picturesque. Lovely views for sketching and photography. Bike hire close by, and swimming in the clear lake water was a treat. Elisa the host was very caring arranged transfers from and to the station and available for answering any questions promptly. The apartment was neat, roomy with a quirky artistic feeling.

The nearby supermarket was closed down unfortunately so was not so easy as expected to do some shopping. There were alternatives though.

Excellent location, close to shops and restaurants. We used the kitchen for self catering but we also liked the fact there were good restaurants close by. The apartment is in a quiet side street.

While the apartment is on the ground floor, there are a number of steps to get to the house. Maybe senior people like us needed to be made aware of it. Nevertheless, we managed without much difficulties.

Elisa is a helpful and wonderful individual and the Anguillara historical center is truly magical. I am fond of quiet places as my work is mostly on line and somewhat hectic and at night the area is completely silent in spite of its central location. The bed sheets are of 100% cotton (the second set was synthetic so I used it only to lay on the sofa with clothes on). The kitchen is fully functional and there is an excellent fruit shop near the gate to the castle so I cooked meals every day.

Because of the lake and fields Anguillara has significantly more flies than the city of Rome. Because of the system of keeping organic garbage in designated containers outside homes to be collected 3 times a week the problem is made worst. It is one of the absurdities of urban life in Italy. I stayed 31 days so I became an expert at eliminating the flies of which there were two or three persistent ones on days after a heavy rain fall. I suggest purchasing an electronic tennis racket as it will solve the problem completely.
