The Penta

Room was spacious and comfortable but with a single quilt on a double bed seemed strange Breakfast was simple but sufficient if you like cereal yoghurt and toast Hotel was very clean and the staff were 1st class

Bit more of a varied breakfast

Very spacious room, with five windows - all of which could be opened. Large bathroom with tub.

The hotel is next door to an empty building, the windows of which are boarded up. As our room was at the side of our building, this was our view. Great privacy though.

Large clean rooms, great location, good value, friendly staff.

The room was clean and good. Staff was freindly and assisted us when requested. The hotel is close to the beach and also reasonably walking distance from the ferry port.

After 4 pm, there was no one at the reception, though the phone service was good and I got advice on how to collect the key to the room allocated to us.

Great hotel. Have stayed here several times now and has been really good every time. Rooms are spacious, staff is really helpful and friendly and the complimentary breakfast is an added bonus. Location is brilliant too. Will stay again without doubt :)

There is nothing to dislike!

The hotel was clean and the room good

The bed was uncomfortable hard and you could feel the mattress springs. Never got any refreshing sleep. Lucky I was only there 2 nights

The Penta is located on the promenade, so as well as sea views, frequent buses run into town and other areas and the Manx Electric Railway is about a 10 minute walk away. The hotel itself was clean, the room was large and comfortable, the staff were helpful and the check in process was smooth (if you arrive out of hours, simply pick up the phone and someone will give you the code to a lock box containing the key to your room). The rate includes a complimentary breakfast of toast, cereal, yoghurt, fruit juice & tea/coffee, but if you want something more substantial, a paid option is available from their sister hotel which is a short walk away.

I would have liked the tv mounted on the wall or placed on a box, or something similar, so that it was higher than the height of the bed. A mini fridge would be nice, but I don't really expect that from a budget hotel.
