The Bothy In The Park

The Bothy is spacious and nicely decorated. Its only about 30 mins walk from the main street in Callander. This is along a single carriageway but its not busy. Everything was clean. The dishwasher was handy and the shower was lovely. The hot tub has a roof in case it rains and is secluded from the main road/rest of the farm area.

The bed was quite firm which was fine for my girlfriend but not for me. We could have done with a dish towel in the kitchen.

My partner and I visited The Bothy for three nights with our two dogs and we can’t wait to come back. There was a Hot tub ready for us on arrival/ robes and the fire inside was a great feature. Just outside the property we had access to a lovely walking route, which was so handy with having dogs (remember your wellies!) Also we loved your style! You can tell a lot of hard work has went into it. We would recommend the walk to Loch Rusky just across the road and Ben Gullipen.

The only thing I would suggest is a roof on top of the hot tub to protect you from the rain.

The Bothy was the perfect size for a couple’s getaway, very close to Callander - couple minutes drive or maybe a 20 minute walk. Everything was so clean and well maintained and had all of the necessary facilities for a comfortable stay. The host was also extremely helpful - would definitely recommend!

Nice ambiance - very unusual and really well put together. Very high standard of construction, super impressive floor and equipment. Loved the pictures and ornaments. Clever use of colour too. The property is well maintained and beatifully presented. The surroundings are also looked after and there is plenty of separation beween adjacent units. The main road runs close behind the property but it is not particularly intrusive.

There should be a mirror adjacent to a plug point for the hair dryer. The green always on light in the ceiling is way too bright and lights up the whole place at night. The hot tub was great but needed more comfortable seating near it for relaxing in the sun. It would also benefit if a means for hanging towels and robes was provided rather than having to drape them over a garden chair.

The Bothy was a great size for a couple - compact but surprisingly spacious, well stocked with modern appliances & all you need for a great stay - and with great facilities onsite. The location was easy to get to & in a great position for exploring the local area.

The property is so close to a 10 out of 10 except for a couple of small - but significant - things! One is the lights in the entryway & bathroom - both on automatic sensors that can’t be overridden. The entryway light was triggered throughout the night when there was a storm, loudly clicking on & off - not great - and I’m sure we’re not alone in not wanting a full, overhead light on in the bathroom in the middle of the night. The other is the bright green light on the, I assume, security sensor in the middle of the ceiling. It is SO bright it lights up the whole property all night, and is directly in line with the bed so is shining right on you while you try to sleep. We ended up hanging a blanket on the end of the bed frame to at least partly block it out but it was like sleeping with a light on.

We liked the property loved the decor. Didn't meet the host but spoke with him on the phone he seemed nice.

The GREEN light in the ceiling. When we went to bed this light seemed to get brighter and it was right in your face all night. Need to put something on the bed frame to block it out. Also the hot tub location as you have to walk round the property to get to it.

Beautiful space in a lovely setting, close to nearby walking routes and local high street. Great having the hot tub as well, it made our stay all the more relaxing. Would like to make another visit soon and have already recommended it to friends and family!

Initially we were worried as it’s close to the road, but it still felt private and it was really quiet too!
