Surf Trip Maldives

I had a lovely stay at Surf Trip! Nice room, good location and totally worth the price. Most importantly, Hari made sure to help me with anything needed and made sure my stay was as pleasant as possible :)

it had a kitchen, which is rare

worst experience in 5 islands & 5 weeks Maldives. unfortunately not happy with our stay and Hari. from the moment we arrived by ferry to the moment we left, we felt uncomfortable. 1) the owner said they would pick us up because its a 15-20min walk to the hotel but then they wouldnt take us because they were waiting for someone else lol 2) the guesthouse had 0 service (no cleaning -which is fine for us- but also no fresh towels for 10 days, no toilet paper etc.) 3) the room was very dark, because our windows were in the reception/generel area and if we opened the curtains everyone could see inside the room + there was mold everywhere & the walls were crumbling down because of it / dirt everywhere 4) we told them we will work on our laptops there, they said they have great wifi (starlink) but for the most part I couldnt even connect to it because „there are too many people connected right now“ ?!? no matter at what time 5) we booked this place for the kitchen so we could cook & Hari constantly watched what we were doing and corrected every move „you have to put it here, use this, not turn this on“ etc, overall you just always felt watched by him (inside + outside of the room) and it also felt like he didnt like us cooking because he had to wipe the stove after (not sure why tho because he was spending 9 hrs / day on his phone watching videos). in general the kitchen was very run down: pan/pot very old/dirty, toaster broke, kitchen towel was moldy & black, stove ran out of gas etc. 6) you could also hear every single word someone else was talking in their room or in the general area 7) and to top it all off: we paid 50 MVR for a drop off at the ferry on our last day at 7am & they just didnt come at all and we had to walk there super stressed and almost missed the ferry, of course didnt get the money back & were laughed at „its so busy, other people going too“ ?!?!

We like the staff Hari.

We didn't liked the rooms as it was not in the location that was mentioned online when I booked. The paint in the room is falling no toiletries other than tissue and half bottle of what looks like an expired lotion. A smelly kitchen with dirty mugs and kettle. We were picked up by literally a pickup truck that was unexpected. The only positive is Hari.

Hari is the best host ever!! He gave me many advices from the island.

Staff were very helpful

Room was located away from the main building and had no were to sit outside and chill. Otherwise okay
