The cleanliness and the relaxing surroundings. The hosts were very welcoming and easy going. There dogs were also a delight and it was a treat to lie under the trees by the river and relax

A little cold in the morning, but it had an air conditioner so easily solved.

Really nice owners, they're friendly and accommodating... The room was excellent, modern and very comfortable... Lots of fun to be had, we didn't have enough time to get in and do any of the activities offered but would've loved to have done some kayaking... Wonderful stay

Room develops condensation as it is sealed. A fresh air A/C system and hob extract would solve this

Great place and beautiful view

Bryan and Mary are excellent hosts, and were very generous in the facilities provided, including inviting us for drinks one evening and leaving provisions in the fridge. The muesli for breakfast was excellent. Free use of kayaks or e-bikes was available but we were out and about so did not use them. Minor issues were raised with Mary and our comments welcomed and taken on board. Lovely generally quiet residence right on the tidal riverfront so with a little more time and warmer weather we would have made better uses of the facilities.

The unit was very small and there was nowhere to sit and eat except on the deck, which was a little chilly when we visited. We may have incorrectly judged the property when booking but it was difficult to relax in the evening because the LARGE TV faced the bed and was difficult to view from the other side of the room. Price per night was the most expensive we paid while in NZ (others much larger but with no breakfast ranged from $155 (motel with kitchenette and separate lounge) to $168pn (Wellington CBD hotel with King Room and kitchenette) compared with $190pn here so the room size and free space in the evening became a minor problem in comparison with other accommodation in NZ). Not the fault of the hosts but a nearby vineyard using loud bird-scarers early in the morning disturbed the peace of the property, and late night/early morning music (but it WAS a Saturday night) from another neighbour disturbed our sleep a little.
