A very cozy apartment! I could watch the planes from my bed. It was great :) Very clean and tidy. The small town has a very atmospheric feel. Thank you for staying here.

The host was just amazingly nice with us, she came and pick us from the airport at 1:30 of the night. The apartment was amazing and it’s well located !

Very close to the airport and spacious.

There was no Air con so got quite warm.

It was such a good location for us! Very close to the airport without being much of a disturbance, and literally a 3-5-minute walk from restaurants, cafés, shops, a playground, public pool, boardwalk, and the (rock) beach! Even the Aquaparque (the water park with waterslides, etc) was only a 10-minute walk. It's also close to the highway, so you can get to the sand beach in Machico and the urban offerings of Funchal in 10 minutes by car, and onward to other attractions beyond such as the piscinas naturais in Porto Moniz. As for the condo itself, it's a beautiful space in a quiet building. The place was pristine in its cleanliness and has an amazing view from every window. Isabel even left us a little treat to welcome us! Everything you need to be comfortable is there. While she wasn't able to meet us upon our arrival, her teenaged son Francisco came by in her place to give us the keys and explain everything, so everything was fine.

The only major issue--and it wasn't the owners' fault at all--was parking in the garage, namely the ramp down into it. It's short and steep with a tight curve, which Europeans might be used to, but as North Americans accustomed to wide entrances and straight or gradually curved descents to accommodate large vehicles, it was a bit of a nightmare for us with our mid-sized rental, resulting in a major scratch on the car that caused my son's mother, who was the driver for the whole trip, to be constantly stressed about driving for the rest of the trip (the car rental agent said this sort of thing happens quite frequently in Madeira). My advice if you're from Canada or the USA, in particular, is to rent a compact car that runs on gas, as the electric vehicle we rented was bottom heavy due to the battery, which not only made manoeuvring through the descent more difficult, but also made the car more sensitive in that the emergency brake kept being triggered on both the ascent and descent. Ultimately, to give us some peace of mind, we just paid the few Euro it cost to park on the street. The other thing I would advise is that you check the calendar to see what local events are on during the dates you're looking to book, as we hadn't, so didn't know that there was a gastronomy festival taking place that also featured loud live music on a stage until the wee hours of the morning during our first weekend there (we stayed a week), which was great during the day, but not so much at night when we wanted to get some quiet sleep those first couple of nights. Again, that wasn't the fault of the owners of the condo. Other than that, there were only a couple of very minor technical issues with a toilet, the stove, and the clothes dryer that I informed Isabel about, none of which affected their functionality.

Everything excellent. A great clean apartment in a beautiful vilage at excellent location to explore the island. The apartment is equiped with everythig one may need, the owner is super friendly and willing to help.
