Ivory Safari House

Clean and quiet place next to a restaurant. The pool is located on the other side of the street but it’s not a big deal for the price. They arrange safari for you (3 different options), a little bit expensive but as the night is really cheap it’s ok. Breakfast after safari was huge!

Brilliant homestay with super friendly hosts. The rooms are very clean and the comfiest bed I've slept in in Sri lanka. It also had a unique bathroom with foot massage stones to walk over. Food cooked by his mother was all very tasty and big portions sizes. The owner was always ensuring I was ok and helped me organise my safari. I chose this park as I didn't want to experience the overcrowding of yala and I felt the animals were given good space and the vehicles did not seem to trouble them. I was given knowledge on the park/ animals as when we stopped- saw elephants with 10 minutes along with monitor lizard, eagle, spotted deer and an array of birds. Swimming pool is a lovely addition for those hot afternoons and again all the staff I saw were super friendly and helpful. I recommend you to stay :)

Everything were Prefect.

This was an absolutely amazing stay. Beautiful location, excellent food and the hosts were so lovely. A big highlight of my trip!

The best part is the host, very kind and helpful. The host managed an amazing safari with a driver who really seemed to care about the animals and made our trip special. Dinner and breakfast was the best homecooked meal we have tried in Srí Lanka.

A very impressive experience even though we only stayed for one night. The host was very kind and lovely. The room was very clean. Beds are comfortable. The shower is cleaned and has new soap and paper. Towels are clean. The food is delicious and generously portioned. We organize safaris from the hotel and the driver is very experienced and sharp eyed. He always stayed away from the other drivers and we were able to see 30+ elephants in a half day tour. Also see crocodiles, buffaloes, different types of birds, peacocks, deer, lizards etc. You should choose this place because it provides perfect service.

The host and his family were absolutely amazing, they were so friendly and kind and they made this stay really special. It was the cleanest room and best bathroom we had in all of Sri Lanka. The food was also incredible with huge portions and delicious fried rice and lentils.I highly recommend this place.
