Vakantiehuisje in de polder

We hebben ontzettend genoten van ons verblijf in het vakantiehuisje. Alles was perfect in orde: het huis was kraaknet, gezellig ingericht en van alle comfort voorzien. Heel tevreden van de vriendelijke host, zeer behulpzaam en snel in communicatie. De ligging is ideaal — rustig, maar toch goede uitvalsbasis voor leuke activiteiten. Kortom, een plek waar je echt tot rust komt.

Prachtig gelegen, heel comfortabel, heerlijke koffie machine.

Location was beautiful, calm and quiet and in a natural setting. We felt a bit cold inside the house. But upon informing the hosts, they reacted immediately and increased the temperature.

Bathroom was small especially considering the wash basin was also in the same area. It was a bit inconvenient as the bathroom becomes wet once you take bath. Would not recommend this set up for 4 adults. For 2 it must be okay. The towels provided were also too short for a bathing towel.

The property is very modern and has every utility including a stocked kitchen (think tea bags, dishwasher tablets, coffee, olive oil, etc.). The two single bed rooms and the double bed loft are great for families with 2 teenagers. But what is really great is that some of the windows actually have screen covers to keep mosquito's out! So you can actually open a window at night and sleep without getting stung! This is so rare for accommodation in my experience that this alone would merit 5 stars. The coffee machine is also fantastic.

The dining table definitely needs more lighting, and the beds were a bit strange: not the beds themself but the bedding. These were the highest pillows I've ever had and I travel regularly for work. It doesn't sleep too well with your head at an awkward angle to your spine. There also were no separate duvets, instead a type of slim padded cover was provided. The property should really offer a choice in pillow type and extra bedding, in a cupboard somewhere. Some people prefer it hot at night, others cold and currently guests have no options (you can't even sleep under just the duvet cover as there aren't any). I would book this again, but will bring my own pillow and an extra cover for those family members that need it. Which seems strange for such a good accommodation. But all of this is easy to fix, essentially, and I hope the owners do.
