GBReally nicely appointed small cottage in lovely Chilham and a really well maintained courtyard garden. One pub and a tea room a 30 second stroll and another pub a few hundred yards away us a post office. About a 15 minute drive or a short train journey to Canterbury. Just love the place.

GBHad the most wonderful experience at The Smithy in Chilham—an absolute gem of a place. From the moment we arrived we felt warm, relaxed and comfortable. The setting is beautiful, with that perfect blend of rustic charm and thoughtful attention to detail. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your return. A real standout—highly recommend.
GBGreat communications from our host. Easy parking. On arrival there are just enough bits and pieces to make complimentary drinks and snacks, which is a thoughtful touch. The cottage provided everything you may need for a cosy stay. The log burner is a lovely bonus, but the central heating keeps the cottage snug anyway. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. There is room for four adults to stay and the kitchen is equipped to prepare proper meals. There is a second toilet and hand basin off the kitchen, which is a handy addition. Across the village square is a the White Horse, a traditional country pub that is filled with old curiosities, offers cask ales and tasty food at affordable prices. Everything in the cottage works and is clean and tidy.
The large step up into the bath/shower might be slightly daunting for the less agile? This is somewhat mitigated by the provision of a sturdy handrail. Everything else is lovely..
