GBThe main thing / only thing that was nice about our stay was the lovely housekeeper who lives at the resort. She was very helpful.
We really did not have a comfortable or enjoyable stay, and we had to leave early because of it. They have advertised a bed in the accommodation, and there isn't a bed, it's a mattress on the floor. The bathroom has no ventilation and is directly onto the mattress so our room was damp and smelly. The food is overpriced, and the island itself has not much on it. The beach looks out onto the city of Kuah, and the party boats come every day for at least x2 hours interupting any peace that you might get to enjoy your time there. We contacted the owner on the first night we arrived to speak with him about our issues with the place, he said he would call us back and he didn't. We have requested a refund for our stay via booking.com and he has refused this, and so we are taking it up with our credit card company to be refunded. A terrible experience and we recommend spending your money elsewhere for a more enjoyable experience.
ITWild Pasir Panjang is situated on a beautiful beach surrounded by the jungle. You can easily spot hornbills, monkeys, eagles. Food is excellent, cooked by the super skilled and extremely welcoming Koi. If you are lucky you will hear some of the great life adventures of the owner. The place is very cosy, and makes you feel at home immediately. We spent 5 fantastic days here, which were definitely the highlight of our 2 weeks in Malaysia. Definitely recommended for those who are looking for a peaceful place, far from the crowds.
Don't expect crystal clear water, this coast side of Malaysia has muddy soils, as it is home to mangrove forests (which will be fun to explore with the kayaks!). You can of course still swim. During the weekend, find yourself an activity to do from 5pm to 6pm (e.g. a Jungle exploration, or kayak tour), as party boats come spend one hour in front of the beach with very loud music.
GBWe were the only residents in an idyllic location. One of our party was vegetarian and Koy the cook catered for all our needs. The results were delicious. The honesty tally on the drinks fridge worked perfectly. Great value for money. We saw sea otters, monkeys, ducks, leaping fish, bioluminescence in the evenings and relaxed in the variety of seating options. Mosquito nets available. Easy to get to.
The curtains were the only option during a noisy storm at night. Shutters would be better. Maybe a bed and not just mattresses on the floor.
ATThe wildness and solitude of the location was fantastic. The staff member Koi is the heart and soul of Wild Padir Punjang. The animals ducks, dogs and cats are delightful and Koi takes excellent care of the guests and animals.
There could have been a little bit more options for food and drink.
NZBeautiful setting and our beachside bungalow was perfect. Had everything we could need and the most friendly and welcoming hosts imaginable. Koi is amazing and her food is spectacular!
Nothing
GBThis beach is little slice of paradise, Koi the manager was really welcoming and cooked amazing food. We saw lots of wildlife including Sea Otter, Toucans and Monitor lizards. A 10 minute walk through the jungle gets you to the rest of the island. Scooter and kayak hire is available.
LTthe territory is totally isolated and wild, so it is nice to feel real jungle vibe. nice kitchen area with board games and drinks.
the owner said, that it is possible to come with shared boat, but actually you can use only expensive private boat. And it’s basically the only way of going anywhere. There is a path through the jungle, which leads to other beach where you can get food for half of the price they charge you here. but they won’t tell you about it when asked if there are any ways of going around except of the boat. Broken flashing light, mold everywhere, no hot water doesn’t do good either. Trash on the beach, construction tools and cement buckets laying everywhere kind of sucks.
GBAmazing location very relaxed like Langjawi of 20 years ago
The party boats
PLGreat place to stay. Great island. I choose the simple room at firs but during january it was very windy (it only has nets in windows), but there was no problem in upgrading for more pricey chatelet which was excellent. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I only had 3 days there and I would definately stayed for 2 weeks.
