Zen House

The room was so like the pictures, very nice view from the appartment. Everything in the kitchen and bathroom worked correctly. I liked that the car could be parked directly outside.

The nights we slept there you could hear some music maybe from up or downstairs, not until very long, but still. The overall look of the building is not the cleanest, but the room it self is very clean.

The host was lovely and helpful, we were able to contact her if we had questions or problems (of which there were few). The locals were all so friendly, we actually made friends with a few! Nearby, there is a park where I could walk my dog, a small supermarket for basic necessities, and a nice cafe/bar/restaurant that we visited every day, either for breakfast, or dinner, or a drink or two. The room was comfortable and spacious. And it was a fun little twist to be woken up by the sound of a backyard turkey rather than a rooster.

My only real criticism is that the bathroom could do with a deep clean soon. It is clean, but just quite a bit of limescale build up around the shower, and a slight musty smell that goes with it, but it's not a big deal. The building itself is a bit dated and smells a bit funny, but that obviously isn't the fault or responsibility of the host (the room itself is quite nice and clean). The area seems a touch sketchy, until you get to meet the locals, and then you realise it's just regular outer suburbs. We really enjoyed staying here, and have already recommended it to a number of people!

Quite far from the city centre but we hired a car so that’s wasn’t really a problem.
