LEMON BEACH LODGE Vilankulo

They have dual internet, (movitel and starlink) which was great for us as we had some work appointments during our stay. The bungalow we had was wonderful, great bed, nice linens, probably the best shower we had in 5 weeks in Africa, and very private. The pool was clean and clear. The grounds / gardens are beautiful. We were there for a special month with some migrating birds nesting in some of the large trees. They were a little loud in the early morning, but fantastic to watch and enjoy them flying upside down into their nests. Elsa and the staff were super kind, thoughtful, and supportive. They recommended and booked outings for us, scheduled rides, and freely shared their local insights, including pointers on the local market. We also ate breakfast and dinner daily in the restaurant. The food and service was fantastic! Insider tip, don't be shy asking questions. We learned from another traveler that the 1/4 chicken meal came with pasta one night. We particularly enjoyed the stuffed crab shells. We also appreciated that round trip airport transportation was included. That just eliminates a lot of stress. The staff speak English, but there isn't much use for English in Moz outside their job, so if you come at them with something like "Oi, can y'all get the Man U match on the tele? Lookin forward to the rumble on the pitch with a pint, yeah?" They are going to look at you sideways and go find Elsa. Yes, there is 10' of SAND "road" between the gate and the beach, but there's very little traffic (it is not a real road). And, yes, the beach is NOT private. If you're looking for a private beach with pristine swept sand, Moz isn't your place - try Bali or Bora Bora (I can't believe some of these reviewers). But if you want a SUPER affordable, lovely beach get away with outstanding people in an absolutely gorgeous location - don't overlook the Lemon Beach Lodge. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent English Breakfast. Elsa and her staff were friendly and helpful at all times

The staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of good advice on available activities. The lodge is only a short walk or tucktuck ride away from the town and an opportunity to interact with the Mozambicans who live there.

Elsa, Rui and the rest of the staff were amazing. We stayed at Lemon Beach for 8 days and we felt taken care of the whole time. They helped arrange tuk tuks into town to the ATM and to restaurants in Vilankulos. The property is a tropical paradise. They brought us our drinks at the pool and delivered dinner a couple of times to our hut. One morning we had an early excision and the kitchen prepared us egg sandwiches, juice and fruit for us to eat the following morning. We appreciated all the hospitality they provided!

There isn't WIFI that reaches the room but you can use data purchased from Vodacom. The room description is accurate and does not list WIFI as an a room amenity. Elsa offered to help us sort out a SIM and top off our data!

Breakfasts were excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location made for easy access to town

Considering the devastation caused by the weather 18 months earlier, the recovery work around the property was exceptional but obviously still has a little way to go

Очень красивая территория лоджа. Уютные домики, удобная кровать, наличие балдахина и москитных сеток на окнах. Приятные хозяева, предложившие бесплатный трансфер из аэропорта. Еда на ужин очень вкусная и порции огромные. Очень весёлая хозяйская собачка.

Wi-fi работает стабильно только на рецепции, в нашем отдаленном домике #1 связь была с перебоями.

La comunicación fué buena en todo momento; aunque tuvimos dificultades iniciales, se solventaron gracias a ello. La habitación doble que nos dieron a partir del segundo día era cómoda y limpia.

No todas las habitaciones tienen la misma calidad; la habitación familiar que reservamos inicialmente fue decepcionante: ruido proveniente de recepción, insectos, limpieza, muy anticuada... eso sí, el personal nos cambió al día siguiente sin coste. No todo el personal es igualmente amable.
