Hotel Blue Horizon

Great hotel in a a quiet side street in Thamel. Nice quiet garden to sit in. All the staff go above and beyond to help organise anything you need. Hooked us up with a great trekking company.

This place is excellent. It over exceeded my expectations. Everything from the staff to the food were superb. We pre booked the hotel before we arrived and as you'll be aware with this can lead to the unknown of quality within the hotel. Upon our arrival we were greeted with massive smiles and big vibrant personalities from front of house to back of house nothing was a problem. From the first instance I knew this place was wonderful and for the price I thought this can't be true.... Bit it simple was. We stayed here while we sorting ourselves out for our trek to EBC but low and behold they sorted all that for as well, which ran seamlessly. I work within hospitality at a very exclusive hotel and all I can say is the service we received here trumps the standard of my hotel, I never heard the word no come out anyone's mouth, if you wanted something you simply got it, no Hassel. The rooms were spacious and clean, while the garden space was relaxing and tranquil, Binod the hotel manger was very helpful and experienced and the location for the hotel was just outside the busy area of thamel but still within a 5 minute walk for the busy at Streets of Katmandu, giving you the peace to sleep comfortably but the access to live life of you choose. We are away to India for a period but come back to Katmandu to fly home, we will be staying here again upon our arrival back, massive 10 out of 10 thank you Blue Horizon Hotel, you made our trip.

This is a great place to stay in Kathmandu. Lovely and quiet, but only a short walk to the centre. We stayed here 3 times. Before going trekking, upon return from trekking and after going to Pokhara. Staff were really helpful and accommodating. They were happy for us to leave bags with them while trekking for 2 weeks and organised a seamless trip (flights and accommodation) for us to Chitwan and Pokhara. Breakfast was good too.

The room was of very poor quality: plugs not working correctly, very dark room, poor cleaning, very noisy, etc. But the worst: the staff is always trying to pick money from you. There is a guy who is offering trecking to the mountain: IT IS A SCAM and all the staff in hotel is in it (even the owner). This man took 250 US $ for trecking in a natural park very very near from Katmandu where the cost for entrance is less than 10 US $ and you don´t need any guide (it is like I ask you 250US $ for "trecking" in Hyde Park in London, Retiro Park in Madrid, Bois de Boulogne in Paris or Central Park in NYC... TOTAL SCAM!) SO, BE CAREFUL AND AVOID THAT HOTEL!!!

I have been coming here for 15 years. Binod, Nick and all the staff are always friendly and exceptionally helpful with whatever needs I've had. They're like 👪 family.....I'm always happy to see them and enjoy their hospitality!

Perfect location, 5 min from busy Thamel but very quiet. Reception ready to help with everything you need. Airport drop off at 5am wasn't a problem. VERY comfy beds. Breakfast in a lovely garden. Hot water in shower. Good place to stay in Kathmandu

Everything was fine, just the bathroom door did not want to close. Not a big issue for us
