Rose Fort Homestay

I was arrived early in the morning around 4.30am. They were welcomed me with big smile and offered me a cup of tea which was get rid of my tiredness. Great location and new building. Rooms were clean and tidy with the facilities of fan and Aircondition. Huge and clean bathroom. Hot water system was installed. My favourite spot was Balcony where I was relaxed and enjoyed the nature. No mosquitoes. Delicious and healthy food with variety of fruits. Kaja and Chitra are very kind hearted souls. He was very helpful in organising transport. I would recommend to anyone without any hesitation.

Really clean, pleasant, well equipped and independent apartment with a beautiful and relaxing terrace surrounded by greenery. Very friendly host who lives downstairs and is ready to meet every need. One of the best, if not the best, option for those looking for a tourist/expatriate level homestay.

The family were so lovely and very helpful and kind. They have thought of everything to make the stay so good. Having a fridge/freezer to cool water etc so important when it is so hot. Great suggestions of places to visit in Jaffna. We recommend staying here for sure. 😊

Everything was perfect so nothing we didn't like.

when we first booked this stay, we wondered if it was too good to be true. We can say now that it was everything we hoped for, and more. The property is absolutely beautiful, with a view of palm trees and greenery from the veranda. The woodwork, windows, furniture, decor are all gorgeous. The bedroom was very comfortable with top-notch A/C and shuttered windows that blocked out all light for a good night's sleep. Above all, our hosts were the best we ever had. They are caring, kind, considerate, warm people. We felt so cared for with the best food we've ever had in our Sri Lankan travels (at an amazing price), and their ongoing effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We had great conversations about Sri Lankan culture and received many valuable tips about how to make the most of our time. Truly a beautiful family and stay. We could keep going on, but if you've read this far, just book it!!

Very warm well comming place I was feeling very safe, easy access to the town from there and, few minutes walk from Pointpidro road. Delicious food (coconut sampol and stringhoppers were the best one I ever had). Clean and comfort. 10 out of 10.

It is worth the price and exxellent food and hospitality by the property owner and wife and the so. All are really nice people with such kind hearts. Importantly, food is mind blowing, such scrupcious jaffna style moringa curry dosai and all other food items.

Property is gradually improving and time will fix if AT all anything missing. However. Highly recommend the property for Homestay.

We were allowed to cancel our booking after one very bad night, we moved to Jetwing Jaffna, which was truly amazing. The host was understanding.

- Retrieving of the keys was unclear, the host wasn't on site at our arrival and the maid was the one helping us - No help to bring luggages upstairs - The place was *extremely* hot. No windows open. Only ceiling fans which don't do much to cool one down at over 35°C. The A/C situation was unclear, and we exchanged quite a few messages with the hosts to validate it wouldn't be too warm. Their answer was: "don't worry about it, it's not warm at all". Turns on there's only AC in one room. It performs okay, but the room's door needs to stay closed, and the room doesn't have a window. So if you want to relax and cool down, you can't, really, as the room is small and only has two bed. - The bed was the absolute worst we've seen in Sri Lanka. The foam mattress was a few inches thick, like you'd find in the cheapest trailer home. There were no beddings, just a cover on the mattress and two tiny sheets to cover ourselves. Not even one big sheet to cuddle, nope. By far the worst accommodation we've had in Sri Lanka, and boy we saw some. - The place wasn't very cleaned, like if they weren't expecting us. - No coffee, no creamer, no sugar, looks like what was available were leftovers from previous guests - Even though we rented the whole place, the two other rooms were locked. There were no amenities. - The AC remote was missing, we had to ask for it - The location isn't good - They were doing work outside, very loudly, starting 7AM - But the absolute worst thing is: I went outside to take some fresh air early morning on the balcony and didn't lock back after coming back in. We were eager to pack and leave this place ASAP. I was using the washroom while I heard someone talk. Didn't hear no knock, no nothing. I was surprised, seemed random. Turns out the owner just walking in, unannounced, without knocking, and helped himself inside. He had to turn off some light.

We planned to stay there for one night, but ended up staying four. It’s very clean and has enough space to spend time either on the big balcony or in the living room. Host family is lovely and helps with everything you need - from ordering pizza to doing your laundry. During the sunset you can check out the fruit bats, who live close by. This place has a very good vibe and I definitely recommend.

It's a nice and new place with a very nice bathroom compared to some similarly priced places. The host is very friendly and helpful providing all the information about Jaffna and the surroundings you need including a pdf.
