Casa Andu

The place (Casa Andu, Str. Făinari #7) is messy, infested, and dangerous, and I am not referring to the butterflies on the walls. I ended up in the emergency room this past weekend due to an allergic reaction / swelling to bites I had gotten while sleeping there two nights last week, bites on my face and hands. I thought it was a spider, yet the doctor said it was BED BUGS (ploșnițe!). The place looked messy, so I got some pictures (bathroom-shower, under the bed, the side of the bed, ... but I thought I would be Ok. Should have gotten out, but I came in tired after traveling for 5 hrs, and then work ... Do yourself a service and book somewhere else - it was a cheap place, but not worth the aggravation by far! The owner of this place should contact Pest Control and take care of this right away, then should rennovate the place and keep it CLEAN! I just hope I did not bring the bugs home with me!!! Another issue: I got a message from the host to scan (QR) the router for acces to the internet. I got in, looked everywhere I could think for the router but found none. On the wall there is a picture with the sign WIFI on it, and what looked like a code, so I scanned; they sent me to a site and asked me to click to get a code, so I did... I got a code, but not the WiFi password, but for some kind of a game (365games link access) for which I received an SMS saying that sending that message/request cost me 2.99 EUR + TVA/Tax! Eventually I called the number for contact, and was told the router was under the table (pretty well masked by a tablecloth and a chair)! Just stay away from this place! I hope those from Booking.com can address this from their end as well! I am thinking of contacting the Health Department (Sanepid) in Bucharest about this!

Host was very active on WhatsApp, we agreed easily on getting the key. Location is great, there are free public parking spots if you are lucky to find it, but its possible

There is no kitchen, but I just didn't pay attention to it when I was booking. But, you are provided with cups, glasses and plates

One of the best value for money I have visited. First of all, the owner was very polite and helpful, as we had a small problem with the key and he helped us rightaway. The room was fine for two persons, very cozy and warm, the heating system was more than excellent and we had everything we needed in. It is in a quiet neighbourhood, easily accessible by bus, metro or trolleybus, with at least two or three supermarkets near it, as well as many exchange offices and a nice Romanian restaurant right next door.

Though we enjoyed our stay very much and I would recommend it for two persons that want to stay outside the (touristic and noisy) center, it may need one or two changes. Otherwise, it was just what we needed.
