Epic Wild Wilpattu

We met there a boy who was doing an internship in Epic wild and was very nice and interesting to talk to. Also the main terrace of the hotel is very beautiful but also dirty.

The whole place is very dirty and full of insects. We expected some of them since we are in the wild but there is no mosquito net anywhere. Since we have been in another place in the same area we can compare and firmly say that the room was not properly cleaned of insects before our arrival. Toilets were disgusting: full of mold and walls were yellowish. Apart from loads of regular insects that we also found in the room (crickets, ants, little beetels, stink bugs, etc) we found a big toad, a 25cm centipede and a big guecko (although the last was cute for us). Apart from the room if you are booking this place for the swimming pool, take into consideration that it’s very dirty. However, all of this wasn’t the worst part. The manager (Melan) was not nice with us. Although he knew we were in the hospital the day before due to stomach issues he didn’t want us to use a toilet after a 12h safari. On top of that, at the very last minute—while the tuk-tuk driver was already waiting to depart—he showed us an online bill charging €20 more than the agreed price. Due to the rush, we couldn’t verify it and ended up having to pay. Finally, behind the swimming pool, beneath some fancy lights, there were three cows tied to trees. We suspect they were placed there merely for tourists to see—which we strongly condemn

The location was beautiful, the staff were kind and helpful, the food was delicious and the stay was comfortable.

As it is surrounded by nature, there are a lot of bugs so some people might not like that. It wasn't a big issue though.

Its really epic location and experience.. Absolutely friendly and supportive staff.

The location near Wilpattu National Park is excellent, and the staff were attentive and friendly.

However, room cleanliness requires improvement, particularly in the bathrooms, where mold issues were noted.

It’s rustic as described . It’s very close to the entrance of Wlipattu Sanctuary. Staff (esp Mgr Melaka) was helpful .

Upkeep could be better especially of the bathroom. TV is there but not connected. This is of cos in r relation to the price I was paying.

The location was great and very close to the Wilpattu park entrance. Very Helpful and friendly staff, the food they made ala carte was quite good and with the size of the portions good value for money.

The rooms though needed some redoing as were somewhat dated I suppose due to the number of guests staying and departing, which might have been a busy period with the holidays....
