Lakefront Retreat by Wonderful Italy

The location couldn't be better, right in the heart of Bellagio with stunning lake views. We unfortunately had bad weather most of the time with rain, but it was still a beautiful view. The location here is truly the best part of it, and pretty much the only great point in my opinion.

Unfortunately during our stay, we needed to do work on two of the days for a little bit (weekday). The Wifi simply did not work. There was no router in our apartment, so no way for us to take control of the matter and try and help get a solution quicker and make sure we could be connected. We had numerous attempts with the property management company to resolve the issue, and they kept saying "well the upstairs unit (which has the router) they said they can connect". Which didn't help us, as we were in the downstairs unit and simply could not even connect at times, or it would connect and then fall through. Very frustrating as we had to go to other hotel properties and try and work in their lobbies. Something very simple and what is promised as a provided service, was simply not available. Do not stay here if you have any work to do whatsoever, or possibly think you might. It made loading things just on Google maps challenging, so we struggled with finding out where to go next, and planning our time there. We simply just had to leave the apartment a ton to do anything connection wise and plan our day. I think the property management company needs to get a separate router or extender for the downstairs unit to be able to connect to wifi. Additionally, the shower is so tiny and narrow, good luck if you need to wash your hair. The shower handle to the shower head is broken, so it keeps falling constantly. You'll be slamming your elbows around on the doors because it's that tiny. The bathroom just needs an upgrade in general, and the property management company should provide more towels than 2 bath towels, and more toilet paper than 1.5 rolls for a 4 night, 5 day stay.

The property management company was less than helpful. It was difficult to check in as they wanted to collect passport information prior to check in (which was sent via 3 different avenues) and still delayed the check in process. They also advertised that they would help with transfers to and from the train station with they failed to deliver with. The living room furniture was very dirty. The best thing about the place was the location. The shower also leaked.

This location was amazing! It is close to everything and the balcony views were incredible. We did not need to spend extra moneys in cafes enjoying the view because we had a spectacular view from our balcony. Check in and out was very easy. I would definitely stay again. Although a bit pricy, it thought it was a great value compared to other similar properties available. The view was worth the splurge.

The only negative, was that the AC in the apartment for 5 people did not very well, so it was a bit hot. We were there during a very hot time in late July, so it may be that this is just the way it is for top floor apartments this time of year. The AC in the other apartment worked great.

Great location in town center. Lots of space on main floor. Two lovely small terraces with views to the lake. Nice size kitchen.

Bathrooms are awful. So dated with tiny showers. No toiletries except for squirt bottle of soap. Place would be fabulous with updated bathrooms. Also stairs to upstairs bedrooms are a teeny spiral staircase not good for anyone who is older.

The stairs to access the upper bedroom were too narrow, we could hardly climb ourselves, taking a luggage upstairs was next to impossible. Also the shower place is too small and water in the shower kept on changing from too hot to too cold and with full pressure to extremely low on its own. So shower area needs improvement. Although on their website it has been mentioned that a dishwasher is provided but there wasn’t any in our apartment. However, the apartment was spacious, nicely decorated and had excellent view with two balconies.
