Luxurious Country Retreat in Winford

The property was comfortable and very child friendly, apart from the planes coming into land which were so low over the property that they frightened the younger children.

Co-host staff were unhelpful to the point of rudeness. They wouldn't give me the full address of the property despite repeated asking. They did not pass on the online guide with info on entering the property and location of alarm system etc. They even misled me when I asked about the type of coffee maker in the property! The refusal or inability to communicate the most simple info about the property was very disappointing and worrying.

The property is in the country with lovely gardens and was large enough for 10 of us across 6 bedrooms. Huge kitchen, lounge, dining area that seated all of us plus 2 guests, and a conservatory. We had 2 vehicles, so the remote location didn't matter. Only issue was that the internet was via Starlink and it varied in quality over the day/night. The owner is onsite and very helpful

It's advertised as near the airport......it's actually under the flight path which we found quite novel, and the kids loved watching the planes come in. There's double glazing so they don't really disturb you inside.

The house was a good size for our family gathering with good facilities. The furniture was of a good standard and the beds comfortable. There was a good supply of crockery cutlery and glasses for our needs and plenty of kitchen cupboard space and games. The garden with the extensive Arboretum was lovely and the supply of dog biscuits/ treats and dishwasher tabs etc was much appreciated.

The overpowering smell of heating/ aga oil when entering the front porch of the property was off-putting. I would enclose the oil fired boiler in a separate cupboard as the smell pervaded the adjacent kitchen and master bedroom and ensuite above, largely due to the external vent from the boiler which allowed the smell to also enter the bedroom and ensuite esp when the windows were open. We bought lots of plug in air fresheners which helped. We also got used to being on the landing approach to the adjacent airport and the associated noise. There was nowhere to hang up coats and no tumble dryer which was disappointing for a 'luxurious Country retreat'

Location was great, the layout of the house suited our party needs and facilities were excellent.
