Gardener's Cottage at Mathern Palace

Beautiful location , quiet , immaculate condition

There was nothing to dislike

An amazing cottage hosted by the lovely Charlotte. She was so attentive, kind, and helpful, and made us feel right at home in Mathern. The cottage itself is gorgeous and impeccably clean, equipped with everything you'd need for your stay. Easy access to Chepstow and the Wye Valley area for daily excursions. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend staying there!

I honestly found no faults and had an amazing stay.

A booking.com hiccup led to me not receiving the door code in advance but on arrival a member of staff was able to let us in with minimal delay

The only other little hiccup was the temperamental electronic door lock....sometimes it worked for me but sometimes it didn't. Luckily there was always assistance quickly available to let us in.

Perfect size for my husband, my mum and me. Great location for a Christmas day walk. Lovely local with a generous patron on Christmas Eve. Would definitely stay again.

Charlotte, the host, was incredibly helpful. The cottage is lovely and it is in a very pretty setting.

It was a little bit out of the way, if you don't have a car.

Beautiful building in a beautiful setting. Also very convenient for Chepstow racecourse.
