Host was helpful and even accepted us staying till 11am for checkout.

Noisy people outside the street and surrounding apartments. Woke us up several times during the night.

As I read a review that I can not get to the property by car, I communicated with the owner in advance via whatsup, so everything was so smooth. Carlo let us in earlier than the check-in time, and gave us a beautiful specious room with a big terrace with a view of the church. You can get a breakfast ticket at the near bar. One thing I loved was the way to get to the property. You have to go through a gate to access, but you feel like a loco. The property is located in the main street and easy to access to the small local shops.

It's not a bad thing, but you won't be able to access to the city center by car (you will see when you get there), so we packed our stuff in advance to make it smaller since we stayed 1 day.

The room was very clean and very good bathroom. The view from the terrace was stunning.

Gangi is not the easiest city to navigate. Tiny, ancient, narrow one way streets that go steeply up and down are not very friendly to an unfamiliar visitor. Our host helped us with every aspect of getting to our room and enjoying the city. And the townspeople were sweet and friendly. They pulled us in and included us in their religious procession and festival. The room was very spacious, clean and bright, and had a beautiful balcony with an expansive view of the glorious hills of Sicily.

Get in shape BEFORE you go! Walking up and down those streets made me much stronger when I left than when I arrived! I wish we could have stayed longer!

The terrace was incredible and the locals were so sweet. Its very calm but you can enjoy the authentic small italian village.

Everything was perfect. When we closed the window screen and we didn't hear the circus that's at the bottom of the montain.

Al Centro had the makings of an excellent property. It was the most modern of those we visited in Sicily – in terms of lighting, flooring, bathroom, shower, electrical outlets, roll-down window covers, and a glorious oversized porch/patio with a superb view of Gangi and the valley below.

Unfortunately, the bed was a hard foam mattress reminiscent of those sold on the cheap at home improvement stores, and the memory foam pillows felt like logs. Breakfast was a far cry from anything we had elsewhere – a single drink and pastry at a nearby bar where we were clearly outsiders. So as a “Bed” and “Breakfast”, Al Centro failed in both categories. More fundamentally, we felt neglected as guests other than the five minute verbal overview we received. We also thought Al Centro should be reclassified as just an apartment to rent. There was absolutely no communication from the owner on any of the channels provided (Booking.com, email, text, etc.) prior to our arrival, save for ‘accepting’ our expected arrival time. There was no guidance about where to park either, and this proved problematic given the precarious mountainside setting of Gangi, the convoluted street design, severe traffic limitations, and obvious language barriers. We had an immense amount of trouble locating the property, finding where to park, and transporting our luggage. The manager was anything but proactive. He waited until we were desperately seeking his loft in windy, cold, and rainy conditions before advising us via text on what street to park, as if we had any clue where it was. Unlike our last B&B in Ragusa Iba, he didn’t come to greet us and escort us home. In sum, the B&B needs to reach out to its guests ahead of time *and* be ready to help them upon arrival. The mattress needs to be upgraded to something consistent with the quality of the rest of the apartment. And for the price paid, the breakfast “coupon” should definitely provide a morning meal as generous as other B&Bs in Sicily – one that allows guests to eat and drink a variety of foods without limitation, in a place far more hospitable than a local grungy bar, in order to start the day right.
